No it dosen't. People use Iphones due to IOS, they don't want to use a different default browser, or download another app store. Most consumers don't want to worry about things like this, this is why IOS is sucessfull. The custom tailored expriance, don't like something? suck it up up use a different OS. Unless thare is a anticompetitive lawsuit( EU, they are really smart about this), Apple won't do shit.

If you really care about open platform, or very paranord about security/ privacy, you probably use LOS( you can even make your own verson of LOS and give it updates)  with Fdroid for apps, firefox as a brower. No, don't think for a second, apple cares about privacy, or being kind, same with the users. Most tech people alrealy knows this.

No. 30% purchace, even if a little high makes sense. You are using their platform to have your app be distributed. The main problems are the 30% of IAPs, and the fact that you are forced to use the app store.

Particularly when allowing "any" app store on the platform would allow all piracy and malware onto the device. Apple controls the ecosystem and actually reviews software... unlike Valve and (Google /s.)

So one developer was sneaking in things. Compare that to...

    That's just this year.

Keep those third party stores off. If you've seen how the work on Android, you wouldn't go near them. It's bad enough when Microsoft, Valve and Epic all install games to different places, but install things into seemingly random locations that you can't then erase, nor can you reinstall without erasing and downloading 90GB again. Valve at least lets you move the Steam Library without reinstalling and redownloading everything. Not so for Microsoft or Epic.

What is interesting here is Apple threatening to pull Epic's developer account. That won't mean Epic can't produce iOS game engines. They just won't be able to test them themselves.

Nothing stopping someone else working for Epic from doing that.

Seriously, I wish you the best of luck in this. I know it's not really about luck, but sometimes when it comes to willpower and just being able to keep yourself sane, conditions have to be just right for you to keep from breaking. I've slipped countless times, and the best advice I can give you is to not give into the temptation to demonize yourself if you end up doing the same, because if you hate yourself, chances are you're not going to be motivated to help yourself, either.

If you're quitting both vices cold turkey, then I would advise that you accept that you can and very likely will struggle with your vices, and accept that you may end up cracking and taking a drink or having a smoke. Avoid it, but don't beat yourself up for it; Accept it as a bump in the road and move on. If you imagine you're a dog on a leash, rushing ahead is only going to choke you. You may be able to handle that (some people can), or you may not. With that in mind, sometimes in order to move forward, we need to take a step backward to give ourselves a little room to breathe.

While it's okay and even expected that you'll slip here and there, that's not to say that it's okay to consistently relapse. If you aren't making progress over long periods of time, then you need to re-evaluate what you're doing and adjust the plan accordingly. That's part of what I'm doing with my VR gaming setup (and the KitchenAid mixer, and so on). Accountability also helps - Now I've got the whole internet watching me for progress after announcing that that's my intent.

It's really amazing to see that I've managed to motivate you to this point, and again, I really hope it works out for you. I'll keep working at it if you will.

Sorry, but that's still not true. Even if you allow Android's tracking features, it's not constantly monitoring everything you do. More than you may be comfortable with, but not everything. There are areas where Google is transparent, too, even though it ought to be much clearer.

You see the issue here? I'm a big fan of privacy-oriented solutions and use Apple gear partly for that reason, but it's not advancing the discussion if you simply portray Google as a demon... because it's not. I'm frustrated as an Apple user when people hate the company based on simplistic stereotypes; it's not right to do the same against others.

Wait wait wait. What? Huh? Now this is pretty cool. The ability to use acceremeters in phones to detect earthquakes? I had no idea they were that sensitive. You could use this to create an early detection system! Especially if you are in an affected area or not sure if you are in an affected area. The other part is how it is being rolled to anything running android 5.0 and up! So many devices. So much data! If someone was a seismologist, I am sure they would be excited to have access to this info. Plus, it looks like this is in near real time, so 10s of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of devices detecting things could be interesting.

Then again, this is just me rambling. Either way, some cool stuff! 😎
