9 billion dollars in revenue, but certainly not profits. Chances are, Amazon actually loses money on that because they are spending a fortune on free shipping, as well as stuff like TV shows, music licenses, and so on.

I have to say, as silly as it may seem for Nintendo to charge $70 for software and some cardboard, I can't help but like this.  It's creative, eccentric and clearly a way to get kids engaged and active.  Also: it's the most Nintendo thing ever.  I can't imagine Microsoft or Sony thinking of doing something like this even if they had modern handheld consoles.

So Nintendo is basically announcing DIY kits for kids,to make items such as a motobike, piano, fishing rod etc. with cardboard. These kits will be compatible with Nintendo switch.

They will be coming out with 2 kits in the start,A variety kit and a robot kit with the price tags of 70$ and 80$ US

I feel like they could have done a little bit better with the pricing of this product,50$ and 60$ would have been a good spot IMO.Otherwise I feel like this is a really different and interesting product and it will either be a hit or miss with this product.

These kits will be coming out with the software on 20th of April.

Another thing to Note which I couldn't find mentioned anywhere is, it looks like some of the creations like the robot will require more than a single pair of joy cons,if that is indeed true that increases the initial cost. NVM this was wrong

Also I really like how they named these kits "Toy-cons"

It is NOT respectful to walk up to a corpse, pose for photos, laugh and joke about it, or any of the other stuff he did.

This is not some fucking live broadcast. Yes, vloggers would record themselves going there. Only someone fucked in the head would actually film themselves pose and joke next to a corpse, then edit the video and make the conscious decision to upload for the world to see.

Are you for real? Yeah, what a fucking hero he is. Everyone should praise Logan!

AG1233 reacted to mrchow19910319 in What do people hate about Apple?
    People dont hate Apple.
Folks here at LTT forum hate apple.

    Why?
    Three main reason:
Most of the people here at this forum are gamer. And gamer HATES anything cannot game. So they put a lot of labels on those machine. (price/performance sucks, not really good enough spec, overpriced) But remember, it is all relative.  Most of the people here are at the age of "as long as I dont like something, whoever does is a dumb ass." And don't mind me say this: a lot of the times we over justify ourselves. I think that they are just not mature enough to accept a non-binary world. Everything has to be good or bad. Everyone is either a good guy or a bad guy. There is nothing in between. And btw as time goes by, they will realise that it is nothing like that, at least not that simple.  Last but not least. The most controversial reason. Why? Because they can't afford them. They can't justify spending top dollars on a nice looking machine which cannot game. It is a "waste of money " they said. But let me ask you this question: people who are rich enough to buy a lot of jewelries, they spend 1k on a neckless. Do you see them wearing it 24/7 365 days a year non- stop? No. They wear them occasionally. And it is fine for them. If you ask me to do the same thing, I won't do it. I think that 1k is wasted. Cos 90% of the time they are sitting inside my drawer. But why rich people do it? Cos they can. And they dont feel bad about it. That IS the power of money.
Wanna hear something funny? i've seen dozen of people at r/apple (you should check it out... people there treat tim cook as their favourite uncle) who said they sweared never buy any apple product. (because of all the reason I listed above) then they got a retina macbook pro themselves. Then there is no going back... imacs...beats.. airpods... you name it.

So at the end of the day, even those self claimed apple haters, are apple's potential customers.
Cos marketing rules all over us.

AG1233 reacted to D Levy in FCC Unveils Plan To Repeal Net Neutrality Rules
    Hey just some info.

So the FCC chairmen thinks this:
That ISP should be a "free market'
Okay... Economics 101.... Barrier to entry in market.
When barrier to entry is so high, only massive companies can dare try to enter, that means it's NOT a free market.
    It's called an oligopoly market.
Something we learn about in nearly every USA undergrad degree program.
As an oligopoly market, it's not possible to have enough providers for which customers can make the best economic choice so providers will be forced to give the most value to customers in order to stay in business. A true free market is say.. I open a lemonaid stand.. and you open a lemonaid stand.. and joe blow down the street opens a lemonade stand.. and customers can choose whichever lemonade stand they want... and if they're not happy with the selections.. they can easily open their own lemonade stand.
That's not possible with ISP service until technology DRAMATICALLY improves.. where you can connect to a LEC (look it up) Local Exchange Carrier and offer connections through your network into the LEC. And see how much it would cost you to connect to a LEC... it's VERY expensive. To make it make sense, you would need a sufficient amount of customers to make a profit and hope they all don't use a tremendous amount of bandwidth or you're screwed on quality of service you can provide.

Lastly, for this FCC chairman to have this point of view, I really think he needs to get investigated for corruption.

So what I did, I called as many as my congressmen and congresswoman and informed them of the above point and also asked them to investigate the FCC chairman for corruption.

AG1233 reacted to LAwLz in [UPDATED V2] Several countries respond to Loot Box outrage in SWBF2
While I am worried that this will have a negative impact on games that does loot-boxes "properly", like Hearthstone and Overwatch, I think it is good that something is being done.
It really isn't hard to design around this though, while still having a beneficial effect.
Don't want kids gambling? Instead of having the buy option inside the game, move it to the website behind age verification.
No changes needs to be made to the game (other than remove a menu), and it will prevent children from buying stuff.

You do realize that the government has always had strict regulations on gambling, right? All that has happened is that people think loot boxes has become gambling and now governments are looking into it. If it is gambling then it just needs to follow the same laws that already exists.

That statement of "everything government controls usually fails hard" doesn't really hold up either. Maybe in the US, but not in less corrupt countries.

I have not seen any indicator that micro-transactions has kept the prices of games lower. Considering how much higher EA's net profit has been in the last couple of years it seems like they are just putting all that micro-transaction money straight into their pockets.

I think children engaging in gambling (or gambling-like) activities and showing signs of addition is one of the times government should step in.
This isn't really about them regulating video games. It is just them enforcing the already existing gambling laws. If you want an analogy, think of it like if COD added a "buy in real life" button in the weapon selection screen. Click that button and you will order a real life machine gun. The government going in and saying "this is not acceptable in a game" is not really them regulating video games. It's them regulating the sales of weapons which they are already doing.

Yeah Bloodborne is a must, especially for $20 (and it wouldn't surprise me to see it for $10 for Black Friday). It's far and away my favorite game since Zelda A Link to the Past from back in like 1991. Though The Old Hunters DLC is a must for that game IMO, since it has the toughest boss fights.

Target is going to have Horizon Zero Dawn for $25 on Black Friday, and that's a steal. That game was a rock solid 9.5/10 in my book.

Nioh just came out on PC today, so I'd get the PC version of that unless op doesn't have a good controller for his system.

AG1233 reacted to Taja in What actually bothers me about Console exclusive players
Well, I disagree with you almost 100%.

First: almost everyone I know likes to play games, but none are GAMERS. They just want to play some games and have fun. For that, a simple console is the way - everyone already has a tv, and you just need to plug it and buy some games. And honestly, thats great. Most people are tech noobs anyway, and a console is intuitive and requires ZERO passion, unlike a PC. It is also cheaper (way cheaper with you account the full cost) and it is GOOD for most people.

Now here comes the second problem: PC gamers are kinda idiots. Myself included, though I think I am more rational than most. They always want something better, even when It does not make sense. Reminds me a bit of rich guys and cars - they have a $300k car but want the &500k one, like the first is not "enough". Pc gamers LOVE that, they want to taste the greatest stuff like 4k, and act like that is the default, and its not. It is ULTRA PREMIUM.

But the worst is when people start wanting stuff that does not even makes sense (like ultra settings or fast ssds for gaming). 4k vs 1080p or 144Hz vs 60Hz makes a difference, sure, but it is a luxury, not a default. High vs Ultra or sata ssd vs nvme ssd*? Well, that makes no difference, if you feel it does, it is psychological.

And I think its bad to ALWAYS want more, people forget that you can be happy with what you have. Im not saying you should stagnate, but you dont always have to go full speed. Just because there is a 1080ti nowadays, it does not mean that the 970 is not a FUCKING BEAST.

And I say all that with the mentality of a person who does not live in USA/Europe, where hardware is cheaper(usa) or people have money (europe). Where I live, things are different, and a "shitty" thing for you guys is the premium for us, so that puts things in perspective.

Conclusion: although I disagree with most things, I do agree that pc ports should be better, and that consoles should push harder. I hate that economically speaking, shitty games like Fifa for consoles are more worth it than pc masterpieces, but it is what it is. Capitalism has its flaws, I just hope it gets better.

*When I said sata ssds and nvme ssds are the same, I was talking about game load times and regular aplications, ofc nvme ssds have their place in the market.

AG1233 reacted to GoodBytes in What actually bothers me about Console exclusive players
I have a gaming PC... or used to.. time for an upgrade.
But I play console games, for the unique experience that they provide. I can play easily on my TV and couch. I don't need to buy 2x high-end PCs for one in my room and one in my coach, and moving that thing is annoying at best.

Beside that, the controls. Not everything is great with keyboard and mouse.. and sure "you can plug a controller on PC", but all PC controllers are insult to humanity, with only the XBox 360/One controller being an actual choice. Sure you can plug the PS4 controller, but support isn't official and you need some extra software and isn't plug and play.
More than that, not all games work with it, and you are limited with the experience of the game, and as the game is designed for a controller in mind, you can't use any controller... you need the button layout to match and the number of buttons.

On console, as you have defined experience that the game develop adapt their game to it, to give player the best experience. Also, the experience many times can't be replicated. For example, the Switch... you can't do this with a PC. I can't take it with me with ease. The switch offers me the ability to play anywhere I want, home or out.

As for GRAPHIXSZZ!!!, sure PC looks nicer... but if you don't have a top of the line PC, you need to spend 2-3h playing with the settings to balance visuals and performance... and you end up with nothing more than console graphics as your.. once amazing PC, is now a potato.

As for THE FRAMES!!!!, While it is easy to point console games with shitty devs or shitty publishers not allowing devs to do good work due to rush release date. Normally, games on console provide a solid fps experience. If the game runs at 30fps.. it runs at 30fps all the time... depending on the game it might have dips here and there, but NOTHING like an weak PC that can't deliver 30fps, and so, as you play, every angle and scene and room, as you move the fps fluctuates all over the place, 30, 50, 10, 15, 10, 60, 30, etc... where FRAPS might happily tell you 30fps, as it does an average and not actual current fps, the game is not enjoyable on PC.

In the end, what many PC only gamers that complain all day about other choice (and many console fanboys as well), tend to forget is.... is the game fun?
Always the focus on graphics, fps, resolution, epic-ness of a game, and which dad is better than the other... but ultimately... is the game fun? Why game fun factor is forgotten?
I don't care if a game has the best visuals ever created... if the game is not fun, who gives a damn. I'll stick to looking at screenshots, I'll get the same amount of entertainment if the game is horrible. I am not saying that PC games are not fun, I am going on a bit of a tangent here, by asking, why do you care? If the game is fun, does it matter if the person plays it on console or on PC?

And for many people gaming PCs are very expensive, even if you consider "cheaper games" (which isn't really true for many titles, unless you wait months even a year for a price drop). You can through me some specifications to me.. sure.. but here are what many "PC Master race" forgets:
Many people non PC gamers, don't have a nice monitor on their desk... they have some shit TN panel monitor that was included in some computer they once bough. And as result, their TV is far better display than computer monitor, delivering much better colors, contrast, and details, despite its size and downfalls over a nice monitor which actually costs a lot on PC. Peripherals. You need a decent keyboard and mouse. Membrane is fine, but you have people who have those 8$ keyboard and mouse OEM combo's, where by now the membrane is all dry up or loose, and the mouse has poor tracking and all in all not comfortable, as the computer was designed to be a web and light e-mail machine over anything else. The desk. You think that everyone has a nice properly adjusted for a desktop computer or laptop usage? No. Many have some cheapo desk, too small for anything really, which is too high or too low, causing to not be comfortable after a few hours, let alone 1. The chair... A good chair is expensive. Forget gaming chair.. no one wants to put that in a living room, or what not, and they are not even good to start with. Sure they beat those Staples / Office Depot chair by a long mile, but they are not chair for sitting as you want for 8h plus.... maybe if you have young, i guess, but for many it is an issue. PC requires constant upgrades. If you want fancy visuals, with fancy resolutions, and/or fps, you need to update often. All together, 'for your typical console gamer", you spend a lot more than on PC, not to mention the fact that on PC, if you have no starting point, you have this heavy up front entry fee (see point 1 to 5). While on console, sure maybe the games a more expensive, but the cost is spread out, and assuming you get the console day one, you know that it will last 5-6 years. So you have an easier time building savings to get the next system.

Yeah, the game discounts happen quite frequently.
Yes,they are quite good from my experience
VISA,Mastercard,Paypal all are supported there, but I am not so sure if another region's card would work cross country,I know they work on Nintendo E-shop for switch not so sure about the 3ds.Also if you card doesn't work you can just buy a in-store currency card from any reputable 3rd party website.
Yes,pretty sure you won't have any problems since I live in India as well and haven't faced an issue since start.
It won't be too much of a problem if you are looking for major games such as any of the Mario,Pokemon games.Others might be a little difficult but you can find them easily, also if nothing else works you can always go digital. Also you would need to pay a premium on most games of around 500 INR for physical games.

Lastly before buying you should know the 3ds/2ds both are region locked so be careful which region you pick up.Also the Japanese 3ds as far as i know can't change its language to english without installing cfw so be careful about that as well.
