ansauri reacted to MageTank in Medieval Games Legitimize White Supremacy
If you play CoD, you might just be a soldier. If you play Forza, you might just be a race car driver. If you play Left 4 Dead, you might just be a zombie apocalypse survivor. Tell that Doctor to stick to what he or she knows best, which appears to be nothing.

ansauri reacted to pomaranc in GTX 960 vs R9 380
Since the "ramgate" people overestimate importance of VRAM.
But R9 380 is still better card.

ansauri got a reaction from silentgamer1 in r9 380 or r9 280?
The 380 is better. More powerful, with tons of technologies more a consumes a little less.
Also it's cheaper for you, so even better.

Interesting idea and very good design, but having the cooler u3, which does the same in 21l, I don't see the point in such complex distribution.
Even less when a few tweaks in the u3 can make it the smallest dual gpu in the world.

ansauri got a reaction from Mr_Raggedy in GTX 960 Vs R9 380
For such prices take the 960. R9 380 is quite a lot more expensive in your country, so it becomes less appealing.
Btw, that model is not available, but you have the same in white, which you can buy: http://www.rebeltech.co.za/geforce-gtx-900-series/9932-galax-galax-geforce-gtx-960-exoc-2gb-ddr5-white-pci-express-30-batman-arkham-knight-galax-geforce-gtx-960-96nph8dve8dc-exoc-whit.html?search_query=gtx+960&results=16

ansauri reacted to Nonco in Do you feel your current amount of VRAM is enough?
Witcher 3 Ultra without Hairworks uses under 2GB of VRAM. It depends on how well the game is made.

ansauri reacted to Notional in Rescue Greece through Indiegogo Crowdfunding
I don't want them to rot, I want them to take responsibility and implement the necessary austerities needed to get their economy back on track. That is what all the EU countries want as well. Greece unfortunately, has not proven to be interested in fixing their problems. The election of Syriza being a huge proof of this, and the election of no today (not that it matters, they voted on an agreement, that is obsolete and no longer exists).

I will let this gameplay here with my r9 285 2gb. It has a good overclock btw and the game is runing Reshade with Lumasharpen and Cineon DPX filter.

ansauri reacted to Lays in Fury X Memory Overclocked by 20%
Here's a tomb raider benchmark:
Stock:
OC:
Max FPS went up by 6, minimum went up 2, average up by 4.
That's a max increase of 9% FPS, that's nearly the difference between a 970 and a 980.
GPU OC & VRAM OC:
Tests done by JayzTwoCents
IDK about you, but I'll take a 10% improvement for very very little increased heat output & power draw, especially since it's for free!
Keep in mind, at higher framerates, that 10% will make an even bigger difference. If you were at 100 FPS, you'd be at 106-110 with that memory OC. Totally worth it IMO, especially since it takes virtually zero effort.

ansauri reacted to inflictedpotato in Why I think the R9 Fury X only has 4GB of VRAM
The reason that the Fury X has 4GB is primarily due to chip yields and technical feasibility. If AMD could have given us 6 or even 8GB, they would have.

ansauri got a reaction from Manny Calavera in Asyncronous Shaders
Nvidia also supports it, so it won't be AMD magically be boosted. Also, Async compute is only one part of the process of the frame rendering. Gpus will see a big boost if the game heavily depends of it, but if not, that extra power won't help if the gpu lacks performance in other areas.
For the moment, the only example we have of a game using async compute in PC is Thief. You can check latest reviews of this game and the r9 380 which has one of the best async compute performance. It barely surpasses the 280x and cannot reach the gtx 780.
That's not entirely true. Nvidia computes cannot handle more than 1 queue at the same time, while AMD ones are able to handle 8.
R9 290/x, r9 285, r9 380, r9 390/x and Fury are able to handle 64 queues. HD 7000, r9 260/x, r9 270x, r9 280/x, r9 360/x and r9 370/x can handle 16 queues. Nvidia series 600/700 can only handle 1 queue. And gtx 780/titan and all Maxwell can handle 32 queues.

ansauri got a reaction from Vineeth in Best GPU for this build and price please
Memory only increases the price, but not the performance. A 270x 2gb will perform the same as a 270x 4gb. Oh, and the 280x has 3gb, not 2.
-
ansauri got a reaction from Vineeth in Best GPU for this build and price please
Yes, it's nearly as good as the 280x, which is quite better than that 270x. You'll be able to play pretty much all games at ultra at 50-60fps with some exceptions (AC Unity or The Witcher 3).

This will be the best at that price range I've found in amazon in your country.
