Do you feel your current amount of VRAM is enough?

Personally, I have a 980 and I don't feel it is enough. Playing Dyling Light, I use 3.7GB, modded Skyrim I actually managed to get to 4090MB which might as well be capping it. I'm kind of glad I decided to use the EVGA Step Up to get a 980ti.

Dying light is a bad game in just about every way, and a 3GB would not have any trouble in anyway.   Skyrim clearly you are using mods so that isn't a fair comparison. 

 

4GB is fine... GTA 5 fine. Witcher 3 I believe doesn't use more than 3 if even more than 2 (Haven't played just looking at reviews)

really depends on the game but yea I feel like my sli of gtx 980 is just perfect for 1440p

I think 6GB is sweet, not sure about 4GB anymore.... I feel like games now will push VRAM harder and harder.

Well then for skyrim you will need the 6GB for 1440p, but not for dying light.

Witcher 3 Ultra without Hairworks uses under 2GB of VRAM. It depends on how well the game is made.

In some games, I am beginning to approach the limits of my 3gb vram on my 780. A couple of games do cap it when I max out the settings on 1400p. I am likely going to upgrade when the next generation of gpu's hit the market (Nvidia gtx 1000 series or whatever they decide to call it, or the AMD R9 400 series or whatever they decide to call it).

I think 4gb is enough if the game is well optimized but yeah, the trend is doing the opposite- less optimization and require more vram. Ftwe game devs.

the 6gb on my 980ti is enough to keep me happy at 4k

GTX680 - 2GB

I'm running a 1440p monitor. Getting to that 2GB mark more and more as time goes on (newer games). I hope to run this card for another year or so before I upgrade.
