R9 380 2GB vs 4GB

PierreCCesario

I'm planning to play games like BF4, GTA 5 and some indie games. For GTA 5, I want to have high-ultra quality settings. Will 2GB of memory suffice? Here's a video showing that the 2GB version can play it on high while on a good framerate:

Or should I just wait for a R9 380x (if that even comes out)?

4GB. All the way.

Basic guide to CPU's!

If I said I were 14, you would call me a kid. If I say 70, you’ll entitle me too old. If I say 20 you say I’m inexperienced and if I say 40 than I'm too boring.

  • 1 month later...

BF4 wont use more than 2GB in 1080p 60fps, also only get the new series form AMD if the pricing is appropriate

so at the end of the day 4gb or 2gb? if the price difference is 20-30 bucks

I'd just pay a little extra for the 4 gb version. You never know what future games will do with VRAM usage.

while at 1080p you won't often use more than 2gb vram I'd still get the 4gb as its still only $30 more.
