thats the cpu. I have an overclocked i5 and gtx 970 and it runs pretty good, no stuttering in 1440p in BF1. I assume its the fx8350 which is at best as fast as a i5 4460. Without my hefty overclock to 4,7Ghz i also get bottlenecking in some scenarios in that game

Honestly, I know what it is to be a gamer, so best piece of advice right now is wait... The new cpu line ups are coming as long as amd's new gpu's etc. If you hate being out of date now is the time to wait, since summer is usually tech booming time, winter is when we prep for price drops, and july also has amazons prime sale so give it a wait.

well, for 4K gaming right now it would be a good idea to go 7700K or Rizen 1700, with a Z270/X370 motherboard respectively.
some DDR4 RAM, 16 gigs would be optimal.
and a 1080Ti to get that smooth 60FPS on 4K Ultra

he asked also for mobo and CPU. fx 8350 bottlenecks everything at 970 or higher range. I'd recommend a i7 for the future, but if you like AMD more and TDP or nosie doesnt matter then you can also get a Ryzen 7 1700x though i dont know much about the new mobos, maybe something like B350

steveo1234 reacted to Mecami in 1440p really worth it over 1080p?
I own a 1440p panel and I have to say that it's definitely an upgrade over 1080p, though you will still need AA, unlike some people might suggest.
1440p is kind of the sweet spot right now in my opinion since it offers a bigger screen size and better details but is not as difficult to drive like a 4k panel.
Also can recommend 144Hz ips g-sync/freesync panels, definitely really cool stuff.

Check stuff like vinyl wrap out if your planning on covering heatsinks but for PCI-E or DIMM slots the only way really is to paint them as stuff like vinyl will tend to be very difficult to apply and interfere with the cards that will get installed.

By saying you haven't formatted in a while, that means you do it on a regular basis. And you forgot too
Why do you format? You should format when you are either installing a new OS or selling the hdd/ssd, unless something is wrong I don't know why.
But it depends on how big?
Is it 500GB? 1TB? 2TB? by format you mean a proper format, filling everything with 000000s?
Not really sure on others but a 2tb hdd Seagate would take 8-10 hours, use that as a baseline or just google it up quickly (mods, I don’t know what size he has so this is why I'm saying google it up quickly and, I don’t mean it in a way where he should just go google everything himself or anything like that *cough*)
But yeah, try and supply us with more info and we can help you out more
