This isn't exactly related, but this thread should be an example of how a thread should be. He actually explained his question and provided some background info too. Meanwhile some people post a thread with only one word and expect replies.

My suspicions are that they are worried on two levels. The motherboard costs around $100 (here in Canada) and is one component of many, so they might the overall cost spiralling up to around $1,000 (700GBP). Secondly, the distraction from school work could lead to you struggling at school. What you need to show is that you7 can build a PC for the same price as am XBox (less than for a Mac) and that it will be used for schoolwork primarily and gaming as a second instance.
 
If I had had a PC at 13, there is NO way I would have got my O'Levels and A'levels .... haha .. no way!
 
Create a little business plan of the total cost of the PC and how it can help you complete your school work ... and that you will limit your gaming time etc.

Different people have different ideas of how a PC should cost. Esp when their clueless on modern tech.
 
Explain the HUGE VARIED differences in platforms to them and WHY a Windows PC is what you want.
Consoles can't multi-task or be very multi-functional, Macs can't play the games you wanna play.
Go into more details of your needs, be CALM about it, even if they start to whine, keep a cool head, ask questions WHY THEY think the way they do, and prepare yourself with answers to their questions you think they may ask you. (Why is an Xbox not enough for you?) / (Why don't you get a Mac?)
 
ALSO - Ignore the people saying your too young to have such a good PC. What the actual F!

OP is your choice, to either choose a 960 or a 380
To sum up, if you want
-Raw performance: 380
- less power consumption, efficiency and exclusive features: 960
Both cards are good for 1080p gaming and in every category (low-end, mid, high-end) there are always two options to choose from and it's always a pain to decide which one to choose. Some ppl would go for performance per dollar, some for exclusive features, etc, so the choice is truly yours

A 380 4GB at 209.99 USD is a worse deal (price to performance) than a 960 4GB at 165 USD.
 
While a 380 4GB at 179.99 is slightly better.

Z97 overclocking is an arseache compared to previous chips i've owned.
 
Generally speaking you could get 4.5GHz, without a voltage increase - set the voltage to adaptive +0.001v, and the multiplier to x45. That's pretty much all you gotta do.

you dont have any other language packs installed? There could be a issue with that. My keyboard switches between English and French at the hit of ctrl shift at the same time, maybe you have the same issue.

sounds like its stuck .. can you uninstall and reinstall - that might help - perhaps the download got corrupted in some way

I would like to thank this community for helping me in my time(s) of need. because of linus tech tips i now have a job i love doing what i love, and because of this community i have been able to adress nearly every problem i have had with technology.
 
today for my first time i was able to successfully do a custom water loop in my pc. i had alot of issues but nearly 2 hours with a dremel fixed them all.  
 
so thank you linustechtips community. 

Maybe cpu cooler isn't connected properly and cpu overheats and then shuts down?

The load may be different, the PSU might be different, the temps might be different. All in all @Tetters seems to be on the mark.

That's rather irrelevant... the fact that the OS won't start without a display is a problem. 
@Deses, are you able to test the setup with any other connection method? HDMI? DVI? D-SUB even? 
 

Corsair K30 or K40 for RGB, macros, etc.?

building a PC is huge, huge, huge, huge fun .... and easier than you might think

Ek aios are like double the price, and don't offer better performance when it comes to cooling. Quieter but not cooler.

I would recommend you to use Mod Organizer, because if the mod is not what you want (or give you 15fps) you can easily delete it and not have any problem (high chances that when you removed the ENB you removed some game files too)

When cleaning the system, you may wish to boot into Safe Mode.

Am currently using the h75 on an I5 4670k overclocked to 4ghz. Idle runs at between 23 and 26 degrees across the cores and load it hits high 40s. (I will double check this and update if necessary)
 
I am thinking of updating it to a Kraken X61 or the EK Predator, but I seriously doubt whether they will be a significant performance boost unless I run the rig under load at more.
 
Again, for a 120 rad, it does a sterling job, of course bigger rad will be better and more efficient, but for what it is, its amazing. One thing against it is the price point. it should be lower, its more expensive now that when I bought mine almost 18 months or so ago. With the 240s being around $110-$120, this needs to hit the shelves at $70 to $80.
 
So far I have been hugely impressed with the H75, it handles the overclocking just fine,

I prefer whatever gives me the best performance pr dollar, im never gonna get why some people are so single minded when it comes to this, worshiping one company or the other, as if either of the companies really gives a sh..
 
My previous 4 cards have all been NVIDIA, because that was the best card i could get for the money, this time around i could go with either a 970 or a 390, i chose a 390 because it costs less here than a 970 and the performance is equal or if not better.
 
This Fanboyism bulls... really needs to stop. not that im pointing at anyone here, but just in general.
