For the price go for Corsair 80i GT instead.
Just my Opinion

Pretty much, yes.
Or Threadripper, depending on your use case.

alleyn321 reacted to FurdTurgeson in My monitor stays on after turning it off?
My monitor does that as well, my TV also does it. The monitor light comes on when it's off, and when I press it on, it turns off. Same way with my Samsung Smart TV

alleyn321 reacted to FoxxyRin in Best Mobo for i5 2320?
ASUS P8Z77 seems to be really easy to find on Ebay for under $100. It's the motherboard I was planning to go with a few years ago before my plans were delayed. I remember it being a really good board, so you could try it.

alleyn321 got a reaction from tbroadwater2010 in Unexpected, random freezes! Help
Update: Replaced the CPU with new one and everything seems to be working. After all the B-Grade CPU was not returned as Unwanted but I believe some other guy had the same problem and OcUk didnt test the CPU good enough but Replaced it for me immediately without problems ( Actually they gave me new one so I made 35£ )

I'm going to say its probably the CPU. As you said it could be about anything. I would assume its the CPU due to instability and the fact that i had an AMD cpu and got this issue after 2 years of non overclocked operation. If the AMD turbo core technoloy allows your computer to freeze less, it could be that for sure.

alleyn321 reacted to tbroadwater2010 in Unexpected, random freezes! Help
I would bet its the RAM. Although i am not a fan of AMD (see below) i dont think the CPU is connecting correctly to the RAM especially if its running at 1/2 its rated speeds. That being said, it may be in your best interest to be sure your BIOS is up to date.
NOW, before the AMD/Intel fight begins, i ran an AMD CPU for 3 years, 8 core edition, with terrible experience. I hated it but it was cheap and i was in college, so yeah i had one. I just purchased the i7-6700k and can already tell it runs 100% better and faster. So i have had experience with AMD. Just not a fan.

8350 or maybe an 8320. I know Im going to get hate, but its cheap it works and Im running it and it runs fine. yeah it uses a little more power, but the mobos are cheaper and so is the ram. which gives you a little more money to maybe get a 390x?

I have seen people getting 5,2 ghz,but it was unstable and they needed too much voltage, which increased the temps a lot

alleyn321 reacted to i_build_nanosuits in Overclocking my Amd FX9590 problems!
he's right, those chips are just cherry picked factory overclocked FX-8350...most of them are already pushed to the limit out of the box. -
alleyn321 reacted to OAcesync in Overclocking my Amd FX9590 problems!
You can get away with increasing but don't expect any good yields out of overclocking something that's pre overclocked

alleyn321 reacted to Captain_WD in My PC keeps on freezing! help
Hey there alleyn321, Have you monitored the loads of your system during the stuttering/lagging/crashing/freezing? If something is hitting 100% I'd suggest to check if it's functioning properly. I'd do a full stress test to see if any of the parts are faulty. How are your temperatures on the different parts? Keeping the OS, drivers and BIOS updated is a good idea. I would check the SSD's S.M.A.R.T. status and see if it's functioning properly and it's not causing the problems. Do you have any other storage drives in that computer? I would try to run the computer at stock speeds and settings and see if the freezes continue. If yes - do run it on its bare minimums (GPU, CPU, one stick of memory, stock speeds and just the boot drive). Captain_WD. -

"Yes it will"
As long as you don't know what Resolution we are talking about you cant say it will not

alleyn321 reacted to EmeraldFlame in Blue screen of death! Windows Error Codes, Memory Failure?
Definitely sounds like a memory failure.
Take out all your RAM except for 1 stick. Run MemTest86 from a flash drive and allow it to finish a few passes to see if any errors show up. If none, swap the stick out for a different one and repeat until you find the offending stick.

Apply the color profile to your device's memory, then tell the Corsair app to get the fuck off your harddrive. It does this for a lot of people. It has a lot of issues.
I recommend to install it just when you want to apply a profile, then uninstall it.

alleyn321 reacted to McFr3aky in Is the R9 380 the good mid end bargain at the moment?
For triple monitors i would defenitly go with the r9 380 because the higher memory bandwith will help on higher resolutions also i would go for the 4gb version.
you could also get an used 290 aftermarket and get much higher fps

We get it already, AMD haters gonna hate.
I have the FX9590 OC'd at 5.19Ghz, running at 58c under load.
A few fps difference in games vs the i7 4770k.
Who cares.
