Statik got a reaction from StDragon in New gaming build-how do i stress it out!?
My internet is a giant pile of ass right now, so I can't really find it. I believe it was on /r/overclocking, but I could be wrong on that. It was actually pretty nuts, just his PC being a PC then a giant flash + bang. Needless to say his OC was not stable.

What is your budget, and what else do you need besides CPU/RAM, and what are you doing with it? There's a format sticked that you can follow that might make this a smoother experience for all parties involved.

Both prome95 and furmark are effectively power viruses.  They have no upper workload limit. You used to be able to fry a cpu with prime95 too.  That was a long time ago though.  Both are quite old.  Prime95 is called prime95 because it was updated to run in windows95.

I would use veracrypt. They have an exe version that doesn't need to install, so you can just keep that on the USB drive so you always have it. Its much.... much more secure assume you set it up well.

Statik got a reaction from Haro in 1080Ti or 5700Xt (Does it still have driver issues?)
I think upgrading from a 1070 to a 1080Ti/5700xt is a huge waste of money, if you're just going to upgrade to nvidia 3000 imho

I'd wait for now and sell the i5/board and get Zen 3 in September.

Future proofing doesn't exist. No one can tell what kind of technology or software is being released 3 years from now.

Your build looks fine regarding upgradability, but then again- who knows if you'll even want to.

These temps are absolutely fine. Better than a fair amount of desktops. Nothing to worry about.

Statik got a reaction from DarthEoin in Samsung reportedly won’t include chargers with some phones starting next year
This seems flawed, because almost every new phone recommends that you use the designated, original charger for that specific phone, as not to damage battery life. Now they don't include that? How are they going to justify batteries shitting the bed within 2 years now?

You should considering that there should be an upgrade in VRMs.

Don't get me wrong, I get that. I usually go the chat route first myself, as I find it easier in a way, and it's easier to multitask, however if they're not solving my issue, or are just complicating the process, you can bet your ass I'm ending that chat and calling.

I understand going to the chat first for whatever reason, but just not fixing an issue (especially in this case a $900 issue) because you don't want to call is pure insanity (and mind blowing).

Statik got a reaction from Red :) in PIA and their "advertising"
So I've read the OP like 3 times, and I've read the comments, and I don't get it. While I don't think PIA is the best VPN and I wouldn't be prone to recommend it (personally), I think you're going over the top. Just because you see the words "gmail." in the illustration, that in no way is conveying that PIA is saying "we encrypt all your emails and everything you send, etc". I didn't even notice the word gmail until I stared at it forever.

All they're conveying is that your data is encrypted (which it is, so your ISP, network owner, etc) can't see the sites your visiting, and that it disguises your IP, which it completely does...

If someone needed it shipped somewhere they should have been contacting eBay to change the shipping location, at that point its their problem, not yours.

I've scimmed though the comments and here's my take on it.

Once you didn't get anywhere in the chat, I INSTANTLY, would have called. I would have been calm, clear, but firm on the phone. Taking your money and not sending you the product is illegal. Amazon tends to have a track record of very good customer service. It's very easy to just refund/help you, it makes you happy, it costs them not a drop in the bucket, and it increases business. I have a feeling there was a disconnect somewhere, and you got fucked. But I would have immediately called and sorted it out.

If somehow on the off chance they still wouldn't refund you, my next call would have been to Mastercard (your payment method), and gone directly to their fraud line. I've never had a mastercard, but I've had to do 2 charge backs on my Visa, and the process is simple. You call, explain the issue, they attempt to get a representative on the line (3 way call), if necessary, and then sort the issue out, in like a mediation type of way. Worst case scenario, if you haven't received a product, and you've paid the money, the fraud department will charge back amazon, and give you your money back, and launch an investigation, etc, etc. I may have missed it, but it appeared you didn't do this, and i feel it would have sorted the issue right away.

If by some god forsaken reason that didn't work, I easily would have been looking into legal routes, etc.

I would recommend being a decent human and not destroying something that you *likely* didn't pay for, so you can get someone else to pay for a new one.

Statik got a reaction from Demonic Donut in Ryzen 5 3600 PBO question
No, it's not "essentially" an XT Chip. The XT series is a new line of CPUs that they're releasing.

You could try turning on AutoOC with the +200Mhz offset, and see if that nets you any change. But Ryzen doesn't have much headroom for OCing in general, and PBO isn't going to give you amazing results regardless. Ontop of that if you lost the silicone lottery + have a bad cooling solution it's going to be even worse.
