Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from FI Fheonix in pc kinda broke
Could be a psu issue, could also be temps. Are the temps in you screenshot with a load on it? or at idle?

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Jason_Williams_9 in 60 Hz vs 60 Hz (Interlaced)?
Interlaced means that every other line of pixels refreshes every other cicle. So you don't want interlaced, just normal 60

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Queen Chrysalis in 7900 vs 7900x at the same price
That's what I thought, So if I were to lower the TDP of the 7900X I'd get the same power and termal advantages as the 7900
Not just for gaming btw, bit of gaming, also video editing, bit of 3D and planning to run VM's under linux. That's why I am going for a 79xx over a 76xx

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Queen Chrysalis in 7900 vs 7900x at the same price
I am planning a new build and I was gonna go for a AMD 7900x CPU. but than the non-X series launched and having watched the LTT review they looked great!
I am in Europe (the Netherlands) so power consumption matters right now, and I like how they run less hot. And what matters most: the price. MSRP of more than 100 dollars less.
HOWEVER
Here in the Netherlands, they are priced almost the same, like literally 7 euros difference for the X vs the non X. In some place the non-x is even MORE expensive.
So now it just comes down to performance and power consumption.
If they are the same price I assume I am better off with a 7900x right? And if I want the better efficiency I could just underclock it? and turn it into a 7900?
Is there any reason to go for the non-X when they cost the same?

Wyzzy Moon reacted to Ahoy Hoy in Many Output Channels on the cheap.
My univeristy in the multichannel surround sound room used Focusrite Red Net as the output device. But its out of budget
Budget wise I think 3 Behringer interfaces with 10 outs each only way to go. Be around 600 euros. Motu makes one interface with 70 odd outputs but its 1000 euros

Wyzzy Moon reacted to SorryBella in Dell laptop BIOS corruption.
Sounds like its more like a dying drive than a corrupted BIOS, corrupted BIOS would just make your system fail to boot in the first place. Check the drive health thru something like CrystalDiskInfo.

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Stahlmann in windows installation loop
after the install just pull the USB, that forces it to boot from the SSD.
Or hit f8 or f12 (for most mobos, can also be f10 or f11) for a bootmenu. A manual overwrite for that one boot

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Zmimgo in A weird question about mixing RAM (yes folks, we are doing it again!)
I don't know what you do with your system but 32 is a lot of ram. If you don't think you'll exceed it, just go for 2x16 in dual channel.
If you think you really need 56GB of RAM, just throw it all in. Single channel is a bit slower but by far not as bad as having to little ram

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Zmimgo in A weird question about mixing RAM (yes folks, we are doing it again!)
You would have 32GB in dual channel (2x 16) and 8GB single channel and 16GB single channel.
Edit: if it even works like that, it might just be that they will all run in single channel.
A single DIMM cannot be running in dual channel because dualchannel needs 2 sticks

Coolermaster MH751, 75 bucks, light, comfortable, decent audio, great mic for a headset.

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from notAfanOf in What to buy?
There are lots of monitors for under 300. 300 can even get you a nice one.
Personally I really like dell monitors, even second hand.
Also iiyama makes some cheap monitors that can look good for the price.
Don't expect higher than 60hz or fancy features. But a nice looking 60hz 1080p IPS panel can be had for around 150

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Radium_Angel in Pcie riser prevents boot
Seems like a riser issue, try to get a different one. it might be to long or a bad one.
Also; dual 3090 is way overkill but why put it trough a 1x riser. That seems like wasted money

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Ashvin Srinivasan in Will my Ryzen 5 3600 degrade if it runs continuously at 90°C ?
That is very hot for a CPU. Above a 100 I'd expect it to shut down the system.
Also 45 room temp? I don't envy you....

Wyzzy Moon reacted to WhitetailAni in This seems like a ridiculus item, I want it, do you guys think? (Pentium Xeon III)
No, it's not. The CPUs around this time were mounted on cards, instead of sockets, so the cache could be closer to the CPU.
That's not needed anymore since the cache is integrated into the CPU die.
Intel's version of the socket was called Slot 1.
That is false. Some were slotted, some were socketed. You could get Slot 1 to Socket 370 adapters.

put file named "ssh" in the /BOOT/ dir on the SD, that enables SSH

This promises to do that: http://foldersize.sourceforge.net/
But it also explains why it's difficult:

Wyzzy Moon reacted to Stahlmann in Steam download speeds peak then flatline...
It's just that your HDD is not able to write fast enough to keep up with your download rate. The reason it can keep up at first is because if it's cache. After the cache is "full", the write speeds go down and thus you can't install as fast as you're downloading. That's also the reason your SSD is working fine. Your HDD is not defective, in fact it's as expected.

What socket? Just wall outlet? Yes than the 3th is ground and you can use something without it

Go for the intel one. They might be the same, but the intel one might be more up to date

Wyzzy Moon got a reaction from Tan3l6 in Is there a way to put windows 10 on my ssd without losing the data on my hdd?
If your HDD is 1TB and alsmost full you can't clone it to a 500GB SSD. Your files wont magically get smaller.
I'd recommend installing windows on your SSD and than connect the HDD and move over what you need. Or keep using the HDD as a second driver for files, since you have more than 500GB of data

Wyzzy Moon reacted to .Apex. in Why is youtube corrupting old Videos (like the WAN archive)
I've watched it more closely and I think it's due to the compression algorithm not recognizing any easily determined objects to compress so that's why the Wanshow intro remained intact, if you look at their faces the artifacts seem to follow their facial expressions pretty accurately which is unusual for a supposedly "random corruption", so they must be using AI to detect backgrounds and faces to squeeze out every last byte and they must have used the wrong compression algorithm settings or some sorts
