First video card was my old Trident ISA VGA card. Back then I was using my 386DX40 with Windows 3.1, 4MB RAM and my still working WDAC280.

 

And what did you have in 2006?

The Ati 9000igp Mobility Radeon inside my laptop, which always locked up after playing around 5-10 minutes of Halo 1 in safe mode with minimum settings at 640x480. Battlefield 1942 on the other hand had no problems.

I had one made by Asus, though it died, I had to go back to my Geforce 256 32MB, then it died and I had to fall back to my 16MB Riva TNT2

 

very first - riva tnt 32mb on my celeron 900mhz.Was Total disaster for gaming.

My first almost-full graphics card paired with my Pentium III 667 (my Mum had an identical one to go with her Celeron 433-I stuck with the Trident for a bit longer than I should have.)

My first ever GPU was 6800 gt (cant remember manufacturer), and soon was changed to EVGA 8800 GT 512 MB GDDR3 which I've used for a loong time before it died, then got a radeon hd 4850 (temporary solution), and two years ago replaced it with my current GTX 770

First real GPU was a 6600GT. Ran super hot, strapped a case fan on it I remember. Then 8600GT -> GTX260 -> GTX560 -> HD8970m. Good times...

A GTX 570 HD from EVGA. Lasted me from 2012 to really late 2014.

 

 

Before then, I had no idea what the inside of a computer even looked like. I had to have some kind of Intel processor, since my 8350 (purchased in 2012) has no iGPU.

My first GPU, leaving my days of Integrated GPUs, was the Radeon x800 XL AGP.  Bought it to play GTA San Andreas and Guild Wars 1.

I would still have it if my brother didn't kill it by leaving the PC in the trunk of his car for a week in the middle of winter, even when I told him to bring the PC inside right away.(we were moving from a mice infected apartment, the landlord refused to do anything about it, caught at least 50 mice in a month with traps and all, there seemed to be no end to them, I didn't care about the mice since we were catching them, but mother was freaking out so.. yeah)

 

As such condensation and the cold everything in that computer. Since it was my mother's PC, she ended up without a PC, so I had to lend her my laptop... which ended up hers forever. Now the screen is broken and it's just plugged on the 50 inch TV with a wireless KB/M

My first gpu was a Nvidia Geforce MX4000 128mb ddr, a few years later I change it for a Nvidia Geforce fx-5200 256mb. On ther 5200 I managed to run resident evil 4 o my first pc ( intel celeron 1ghz + 512 of ram )

You had one with 128MB vRAM? I had a 64MB one that was intended for my Pentium III 667 Desktop to replace the Geforce 256 32MB (which replaced my Riva TNT2 Vanata 16MB), but it died so I had to downgrade right back down to the TNT2. And it actually finally got upgraded last year to an FX 5500 256MB, then a Geforce 6200 512MB.

Albatron GeForce 4 Ti 4600, it was literally the only GPU i had that could take over my Orginal XBOX at the time LOL, i played a few games liek Black Hawk down on multiplayer religiously on that system.

Anybody remember Voodoo cards? My dad bought some of those but for me my first GPU purchase was an ATI Rage. Yeah, I'm old.

I do, i'm a 90's brat so i saw the birth of 3D graphics, since i started out on a Mega Drive 2, or GENESIS to you non Euro folks

My first video card was an S3 Trio 64v+ 3D something, on AGP 8x - couldn't ask for more, because it was a system bought by my parents from their small salaries, a K6-2 333 Mhz with 128 MB SDRAM and 4.3 GB hard drive.

 

Saved for a few months and bought a S3 Savage 3D because it was cheap and made Half-Life 1 playable at something like 800x600 on OpenGL. About 2 weeks later, the card died, some BIOS corruption. The store owner replaced the card with a  S3 Savage 4 which was slightly better but not by much. The card also died a week later. 

The store owner just got fed up and pulled an nVidia Vanta with 16 MB of memory and gave it to me - i remember it was something like 25-40% more expensive than those S3 Savage cards and I couldn't possibly afford that Vanta at the time, i was ecstatic.

Finally, I could play Half-Life 1 at the 14" monitor's default resolution of 1024x768 with decent quality...

 

From there I moved on to a Radeon 9200 made by Gigabyte which was later replaced by a Radeon 4850 - the 9200 was moved in my parents' pc until it died last year after my parents' monitor died and took the card with it (high voltage through the vga cable).

And from that 4850, I moved on to a 7770 Ghz edition which I'm going to replace soon with a RX 480.

For me, are you talking about my parents when their computer was what I used?  (I'm still living at home.)  Or, are you talking about my own personal computer?

 

If my parents is okay (when I was using it too) ... it would be an ISA (I presume - bought January 1989, on a 286-10 with 1 MB RAM) EGA graphics card.

 

If you mean my own personal dedicated GPU (I'm assuming integrated GPUs don't qualify), then that would be the GTX 970M in my Clevo P750DM-G laptop.

 

Oh, you say laptop GPUs don't count?  Well, then, my next discrete GPU in my desktop (I'm on my 2nd desktop - bought in 2015, first in 2008, died in 2012, used my dad's 2008 laptop for a while which he still has & uses) will be my first.

 

An interesting note to me - when I got my first desktop in 2008, it had an ATI Radeon Xpress X1250 integrated GPU.  My parents' PC before that (bought I think around 2002 or so) had a GeForce2 MX 400 dedicated card.  The 2008 iGPU kicked the ~2002 dGPU's butt!  Yes, I realize the MX 400 wasn't a high-end card at the time.  I expect whatever was the then-equivalent of a ~2002-vintage 4-way Titan SLI or x80 Ti would have slaughtered the X1250.
