Clocked at 1178MHz for the GPU base and 1279MHz for the GPU Boost clock

What are they waiting for? the HOF & KPE are already out!!!!!  They are just losing potential customers!

 

(although I'm 100% sure the KPE is going to remain the top dog, it's WAY to good to be dethroned IMO)

Why even bother with this? Just offer the twinfrozer in multiple colors instead...

Unless this cooler is somehow way better (which given how amazing the twin frozer is already, I doubt it could be).

How is this Card different to the Gaming 6G model? The Clocks are the same!

All it is, is the gaming with a different shroud. Pretty pointless if you ask me.

I've emailed their marketing department and tried calling them sadly no answer at all. If the release of this lightning is anything like the 780 though it SHOULD be out by the end of August.

I really don't think it's gonna matter, Kingpin's card seems to have won the battle this round.  The amount of features for XOC it has is absolutely insane.

 

I just wish they'd announce/release it so I can see what it looks like & some reviews  :(

Yeah I think Kingpin will still be at the top, but I'm sure the Lightning will come really close! Who knows maybe they're intimidated by the Kingpin and spending more time on the Lightning which is why they haven't said anything yet.

In benching I think the only way the lightning can come close is if they put Samsung VRAM on it.

 

The reason the KPE is topping all the benchmark charts right now is because of the Samsung VRAM, it doesn't cold-bug as easily as Hynix, and NO other 980 TI have Samsung VRAM right now, it's all hynix.  Samsung VRAM also scales better with volts :D

 

(not to mention the crazy amount of dipswitches, and adjustable V-DROOP on the card)
