Hi! I have a rig and I want to make it better for as little money as possible. How?

EDIT: I discovered that some RAM that I was taking from my old old PC and putting in my old PC was not DDR2, but DDR3, so I will soon have 16GB of RAM in this rig, just because I can.

EDIT: I play AC1, AC2, BS1, BS2, BSI, FC1, FC3, Skyrim, TF2, Goat Simulator... these are the most intense games I play. Well, except for FC1 and TF2, those games are 11 and 8 years old. Therefore, I don't see a need for an SSD. I mainly play TF2. Sure, I do stuff in Unity and eventually CryEngine or something, but nothing crazy. I can't really afford an SSD, not to mention a GPU.

EDIT: I saw a used 780Ti for about what I'd get for my 270x less than what a cheap GTX 970 costs brand new. I just don't have that money, still. It'd take me a while to sell the GPU, I'd get about 1000 SEK (out of 2500) for that. I have almost 400 SEK right now. Even if I stretch it and sell my 270x for 1350 in 3 weeks, I'd only have 2350. It's just not happening. I can probably budge the guy down a bit, but not THAT much.

Well, I don't know what I'd use it for. I'm not going to reinstall Windows on it. It just seems too unnecessary.

I don't have a code for it. I'm not paying $125 (899sek), plus like $90 for an SSD, just so data is read and written a bit quicker.

SSD. I switched to one and now I groan at any PC without SSD. The improvement felt like online gaming with 500ms ping speed up to 50ms ping.

 

Anyway, how "little money" do you mean? And "better" in what sense? I suggest putting a small pot of cactus on the PC case.

So little money that I will not buy an SSD, but I might buy a GPU, as I find it more important. I'm trying to get a 780Ti.

Aye. With an SSD everything is smoother and faster in Windows. Works best if you surf/work a lot.

 

Since I'm not rich enough to get a 1TB SSD, it means I have all my games on mechanical drives and once I'm in a game, I can't tell the difference between SSD and no SSD. If you spend more time gaming, a more powerful GPU would help a lot.

some SSDs offer kits that let you copy parts, that you select, from your old drive to your SSD. That way you can just move windows over to the SSD and get a lightning fast boot-up time.

I know Kingston, Crucial and Corsair has these kits. Kingston sells them under they HyperX brand.
