Go to solution Solved by STRMfrmXMN,

alrighty im gonna keep this thread unsolved for now because im very particular and im also very open to ideas.

Logitech G710+ perhaps?

so im looking for a good mechanical keyboard my max price is $200. ive never owned or really had a lot of experience with a mechanical keyboard before just as a heads up. id like it to have blacklit keys and maybe some side macro keys if possible. i also want people to tell me their experience with the keyboard they recomend.

k70 or k95

the 95 has 18 G keys on the left, great for macros and MMOs

the k70 doesnt and is a bit cheaper

you can get both with normal or RGB lighting (which obviously costs more)

great build quality and very elegant

I wouldn't get a Razer or Corsair keyboard. EVER.

Someone told Luke and Linus at CES 2017 to "Unban the legend known as Jerakl" and that's about all I've got going for me. (It didn't work)

Well, my brother bought a.....umm...blackwidow, I think?(mind you it's the 2013 edition) and it works great, and yeah the software isn't amazing but in general use and gaming, the thing is a beast.

NOTE: He even spilt coffee on it and it's all G

Ignore the whole "BUY THE CORSAIR KEYBOARD" raid as they really are just spewing stuff they've heard from others over and over again...

What keyboard layout do you want? ANSI/ISO? Tenkeyless is not really an option if you want macros, but if you ditch macros then tenkeyless is an option.

What key switch do you want? Any and all info about this can be found in the link in my sig.

Backlighting a requirement?

First of all. I am not satisfied with my current keyboard and will be building my own when I have the money.

Why I dislike Razer and Corsair Keyboards

Razer

-Poor build quality

-Poor stock keycaps

-Non-standard layout so you can't change (some of) the stock keycaps

-Overpriced

Corsair

-Poor build quality, less so then Razer, but still not the greatest.

-Again, poor stock keycaps. Damn ABS!

-Much like Razer, they also have a non-standard layout, meaning you, again, can't replace (some of) the keycaps.

-Overpriced

For some reason a lot of people place Corsair on a pedestal way above Razer. IMO they're about the same.

Layouts depend where OP lives. Last time I checked ANSI is NA and ISO is EU. Or something like that.

You can buy either though through WASD. Usually if somebody wants ISO in the US then I immediately poke at WASD.

ANSI is a shorter enter key and one fewer key on the keyboard. Google images should help you ;)

Backlighting? Check, alright.

Check out the link in my sig about keyswitches. This may determine greatly what keyboard we choose for you :)

I've been using the Corsair K70 w/ Blues for awhile now and it's a really nice gaming keyboard, though it's not the best keyboard for typing and lacks the macro keys you'd like.  If the K95 is anything like the K70 though, I'm sure that's the keyboard for you.

alrighty well in a switch i want something thats good for gaming but is good for typing as well like for game chats etc if im not using like a voice chat system. something thats easy on the fingers would be nice to im used to this membrane laptop keyboard and it feels kinda eh as far as how tough it is to push down each key.

Laptops use scissor switch.

Do you want a tactile bump? Or click when the switch activates?

STRMfrmXMN you don't have gaterons in your switch guide. Also, what's my problem with WASD? No options for different cases (last time I checked) locked into crappy plastic ones.

Well you'll know because the switch will also bottom out after you hit the activation point. however the tactile bump will allow you to know when you hit the activation point exactly meaning you can type lightly.
