I'm a bit surprised at how well the 2gb VRAM was handling 4k gaming....I'm curious to know what the minimums were between the SLI 960s and the single 970.

Amazon:

How does the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 960 compare to the STRIX card we checked out yesterday? AND, will SLIing GTX 960s reap some sweet results?

It's gigabyte, avoid it like the plague? Who want's that tacky crap?

And yeah of course, depending on what you consider "Sweet Results".

Avoid Asus this time around and get two MSI 760's and have one of the best Gaming Experience possible. Newest hardware and tech, great design from a company that gives a [REDACTED] about its products, unlike AMD who just wants to pump out cheap crap to peasants who don't know better, or fall for their PR Crap, and have two of the sexiest cards out there. That is my advice. Of course, I am not even happy with SLI 3/4-way 980's or Titan-Power, because I want 12K Gaming (yeah I know, I know but it's what we are calling it deal with it), and I want it now. So it's all relative.

Interesting 4k results. Beyond that, nothing outside of expectations really..

I'm still interested in the 960, but I'd rather wait for the R9 300 series to come out, because if they all have HBM and a decent architecture, as well as being competitively priced as usual, then they will probably be my choice of card.

I would have liked to see 960 SLI vs 760 SLI on the charts seeing as the 960 replaces the 760 but I guess I can find that elsewhere.

-snip-

And rage after that  I have built many PCs and I can say good for both, AMD and Nvidia... Both have their pros and cons but the main decision point is mostly the price of the cards... And GigaByte is a pretty decent manufacturer, just like ASUS, MSI, etc... Also 3/4way sli kinda tells everything about you...

Who is? SLI provides the best results in two-way configuration.

I'm glad to see Linus bring up how awesome the R9 290 is for $40 more than the 960.

Linus is a noob. Sorry, not noob, I mean he is sorta a tacky ass dork. He really has no style, and is goofy as hell, and cares nothing about the important things like, RELIABILITY, PRODUCT SUPPORT, OVERCLOCKING ABILITY (Always much easier on Intel and Nvidia Products) , Consistency, Availability, Engineering, Design, QA, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera... nevermind I take that back, he really is a noob. Sorry man. You NEVER mention any of this stuff that is really important. Sorry to call you out but there it is. Ban me bro, I am just calling it like I see it.

All you talk about is peak performance numbers that are not even consistent. AMD products are so hit and miss. All over the book. I overclock and support for 12-36 months a lot of freaking CPU's and GPU's, and AMD's are crapola all over the place. Nvidia's are all within a very close spec. Intel is even better. AMD is a crap shoot and even then, 1/5 GPU's doesn't even freaking work.

AMD is a joke.

nCVuhKR.jpg

sOjis0v.jpg

In what industry in the world is it okay for these types of numbers???

AMD IS A JOKE. Wake the hell up sheeple, and stop drinking the peasant-ade.

You missed the point, I was talking about how GPU power is not there for 4K (nevermind the 12K I want to be playing Star Citizen in) to even push 100-120FPS let alone the 140-150FPS that is mandatory for me to feel "good" about spending $4000+ on GPU's, and $1000+ on CPU. Yeah, I'm spoiled because I can afford to be but that is besides the point here.

Not sure if troll, or just extreme fanboy.

Linus is a noob.

Oh yeh lol, 100% troll.

I feel as if a ban or at least a warning point is in order.

Edit:

Anyways, on topic with the GTX 960, and more specifically the G1 version and SLI.

I find that the Windforce 3X cooler for the 960 is WAY overkill, it's fking massive and the chip has a 120W TDP, seriously?

For 350/360 AUD it's just a ridiculously overpriced GPU, seriously, you can get a fking 280X for that much. And I'd think that the 280X is quite a bit better after looking back at the 285 benchmark results.

I think that the 300 series from AMD will be a lot more interesting, and the R9 380 (or 370, just depends if AMD for some reason drops the highest tier GPU in the 300 series to 80 instead of 90).

I knew exactly what you were saying; I was being overly critical by not taking anything else after, "Of course, I am not even happy with SLI 3/4-way 980's " into consideration
