BANNER HOPEFULLY COMING SOON

Yay, another build. Not sure how long this one will take, since it is gonna take a back seat to everything. I have a hard drive I can throw in at home, but after that it's just a matter of buying a new heatsink for it and maybe a different hard drive so that this one doesn't die.

But, time to tell you the specs. The things that are in red are things that I bought or had previously. Blue are donations. Orange are presents for my birthday or Christmas (since that might be possible with this build).

BLUE: Donated

PURPLE: Pending (not bought, being shipped, or is at my house waiting to go in)

CPU: Intel Pentium III @ 733MHz

COOLER: Random POS with a hot-glued fan

RAM: 2x 256MB PC133 CL3 (mixed brands)

MOTHERBOARD: Random Compaq board from a Deskpro EN

GPU: Nvidia RIVA 16MB

STORAGE: Compaq LTN-485
PSU: Proprietary Compaq 135 watt (with a Delta fan thrown in I can control)

CASE: Compaq case

DISPLAYS: None

PERIPHERALS & OTHER GOODIES: Logitech MK260 (for when it actually needs mouse/keyboard input)

I thought the FX line was CPU's? :huh:

Going way back(kinda) nvidia made fx series gpu's. I believe they were taken over by quadro. May be completely wrong.

So far, none. Yay for having no money. Athena is close to finished. I just gotta make my mom order my case this weekend. But this build and Ares are at my grandma's. HELIOS and Athena are at my house (although HELIOS sits on a shelf, waiting for the 300R again).

They were mainstream GPUs back in the day.

An update? Already? HOW UNLIKE YOU!!! Anyways, this is how it stands. I took the first couple pictures by the window, and one was taken under a florescent light (since the sun is no longer to my advantage). Not pretty, but it works. I also ended up unplugging the rear fans and the side panel fan, since they are too loud (I think I'll get a Sentry Mix 2). I think I'll leave it where the oddball picture is. After I make enough room for the monitor on the card table, I'll take some more pics (its in the middle of where my mom and stepdad just pile their shit). Click the pics for the full-size images.

Also, PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT CASE THIS IS.

And I had to use the HDD indicator as a power indicator. I haven't been bothered to mod the power LED to work for it. And when I cleaned the case, I put in the power button sideways.

Chieftec dragon. The first case that came in numerous different colours.

And the Alienware branded one.

I had one in metallic blue back in 2002. I had dual P3 Xeons in mine with 128mb RDRAM.

My step brother has exacly the came case, but i don't know what it is. And i can't contact him atm...

But you do miss a door. There's normally a door for the bays with led stuff in it. That's why that hole at the power button is there.

And also it's painted, not sure if you did it, but it isn't yellow from the factory, normally it's gray.

Yeah, I got this case used and abused. Works great for what this machine might become.

True! I used it also before i gave it to my step brother, tried to fix the door, but i wrecked it actually a bit, oh well

It's a nice case to work with, the square holes for the fans really are nostaligic Love it.

Normally it was every single colour you could imagine. Red, silver, black, green, blue, gray, yellow, beige..

The Dragon was the first case ever to come in a variety of colours and was around for years.

Yeah, and to think I just hot glued the acrylic window to the top, as well as hot gluing the fan to the plastic bracket on a different heatsink since I didn't have the right screws.

UPDATE!!! I got the HDD and installed it, as well as put the acrylic window back on top. I also decided to get a heatsink on with a quieter fan, although this one seems to be almost dead. Also, the little heatsinks on the HDD are from an old laptop, and they actually make a difference (this drive has always ran hot).
