Poll: 2560 x 1440 vs 2560 x 1600

2560x1600 but for what they generally cost above 1440p it isnt necessarily worth it

I would prefer to keep 16:9, so 1440. Are you going to add more polls? This for a project or something?

I think 2560 x 1440 or 1440p. I just prefer the 16:9 Aspect Ratio.

The best game compatibility sits at 16:9, where 1440p will be most supported.

However 16:10 gives the user the possibility to run software while having the taskbar and tabs open running at full size, which is pretty nice.

If you are just looking for a monitor to game and watch movies, then 1440p seems a better choice.

1440 for me, there are many more monitor options at more competitive prices.

I just went to PCP and the cheapest name brand 1440 monitor is the Asus PB278Q at $489 while the cheapest name brand 1600 monitor is the Dell U3014 for $1050.

Usually I would agree with you, but 11% more pixels for double the cost?

nah, but if i got to choose, if i got a 1600p monitor or a 1440p monitor for free, i would pick the 1600p. therefore 1600p>1440p

Thats just because these new guys have never used a proper 16:10 monior. I also really like 23in@1080p and 24in@1200p so 30in@1600p hasa much closer ppi than 27in@1440p. Also even the cheap korean 2560x1600 monitors arnt all that cheap at ~$600. This price is somewhat justified however since they are 30in and 10bit with a decent stand and multitude of inputs. Another reason would be that there is no more budget or business variant like there are with 27in@1440p monitors like the PB278Q.

I absolutely prefer 16:10 over 16:9. I wish were more 1200p and 1600p displays on the market. Better yet, the 4K equivalent at 16:10 would make me ecstatic.

there technically is:

That's definitely a 16:10 but that's a resolution significantly higher than 4K. What I want is something similar to what 1200p is in reference to 1080p.

I prefer 1440p. I just don't like 16:10.
