What kind of gifts would a female teenager appreciate?

Hello, I'm looking to buy my friend a birthday present, she loves cat's and likes saving animals from endangerment. We don't know each other in a personal level, she does know I do have an interest in her (As in like her, I'm a male). We're both less than 16 years old. I haven't researched in too much depth what kind of presents women like in general, but from what I've seen, they normally like necklaces, perfumes, jewellery ect. She is a vegetarian and is Christian so she hates products which have harmed animals in the process.

I was told Cards and Flowers were overused which I didn't really believe in as If you write a letter personalised to her then it might mean a bit more. I don't really talk to her as we're both shy around each other (Not sure in a good or bad way)

Get her a taser.  It will let her know you're interested in her safety and that you think she is attractive and a potential target.   Include a note about how you want her to be safe from the creeps of the world and if she won't let you protect her at least you would be comfortable knowing she has this to assist in protecting herself.

They're all pretty modern gifts but I want something more personal  towards her
