Common WiFi can be used to scan for explosives and chemicals say researchers.

Researchers at Rutgers University have created techniques using WiFi broadcast  and receivers to image the interiors of baggage and backpacks.

The researchers' suspicious object detection system is easy to set up, reduces security screening costs and avoids invading privacy such as when screeners open and inspect bags, backpacks and luggage. Traditional screening typically requires high staffing levels and costly specialized equipment.

"This could have a great impact in protecting the public from dangerous objects," said Yingying (Jennifer) Chen, study co-author and a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Rutgers-New Brunswick's School of Engineering.

Pretty interesting. I wonder if the folks at LMG would want to try to build their own WiFi imager.

I like that.

You can take a look at all of the Tech that I own and have owned over the years in my About Me section and on my Profile.

I'm Swiss and my Mother language is Swiss German of course, I speak the Aargauer dialect. If you want to watch a great video about Swiss German which explains the language and outlines the Basics, then click here.

If I could just play Videogames and consume Cool Content all day long for the rest of my life, then that would be sick.

Guess who is going to get a large cheque from a three lettered company...

But can it detect objects like the Crysis nanosuit?

if they are using 2.4 GHz then airport wifi just literally got worse. yet more interference lol

I'd hope they are using 60 GHz or something if it's just for screening.
