I agree 100%. The government has already started to try and get people to move away form using Chinese software, I can imagine them taking that further and extending it to other Chinese tech products. 

I wouldn’t call it xenophobia. I think it’s more of technological balkanization. 

 

US and China aren’t exactly allies like South Korea but so much of manufacturing happen in China. It would be interesting where would Apple outsource manufacturing other than Foxconn in the future. At the moment, Apple is manufacturing older iPhones (SE and 6s) in India in order to penetrate the third largest smartphone market in the world.

Never said it would, but if we were to discover that Huawei was sending telemetry to the Chinese Government, they're done. It's really that simple. 

 

I'm not advocating for the US to ban Huaweis products, but if given a valid reason, they can and will be. 

 

Huawei is selling a lot of phones. Good for them! Lets see if they can actually make impressive earnings and drive innovation and do something with it. I personally don't see that future in Huaweis cards, but what I think doesn't matter.

Yeah, I have high hopes for them to dethrone Samsung as king of high-end Android smartphones. With how much bloat they have on their phones now it's barely android

Huawei serves not only the high end but also the midrange and budget market segments. Apple, meanwhile, almost exclusively serves the high end with the exception of their older phones and the iPhone SE

Secondly. As a person that doesn't like apple but will give them credit where it is due. From recent events and issues they have kinda been giving themselves a negative view for people more tech orientated. To the nornal consumer they may not know or see it. So ya. 

 

In my opinion if apple continues on their path i do think they will start to crash n burn. Their devices where seen as a high end, clean looking and great functionality devices. Their older models in devices are kinda that for when they released them. But for current and future devices they dont live up to the name that i saw Apple as.

 

So Huawai i will give them props i was using a smasung device now using the P20 Pro which i am liking greatly. So i may turn to them for when i get a new phone, could go back to samsung or try another odd brand of phone or go to apple for some bizzare reason...
