upgrade from 10100f

well, the problem with 11400 is that is has uhd 730 which is a little bit slower compared to uhd 750 in 11500/600 and i think it may make difference when using it with my arc gpu through deep link

I haven't seen performance metrics on that myself so I can't comment. But since Intel Arc is so new, and spending the extra money is worth it for the experience of pairing better parts like that, then go for it.

Budget (including currency): 0$-250$

Country: Russia (prices there are same/close as in US)

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly 1080p gaming and twitch streaming

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

so i wanted to upgrade from my i3 so it could handle more demanding tasks as i can clearly see that its not even enough for proper 24 chunk minecraft,
i built this pc recently (late august 2023) and i thought of upgrade to something better like i5 11400 11600k 11700 11700k or 11900f

my mobo is gigabyte b560m h and i dont think my vrms will be fine so i will be upgrading it too

Just from the options you provided I'd say the 11700k would be your best option paired with a decent motherboard and you won't be needing an upgrade for quite a few years.

Also if you haven't, make sure you allocate enough Ram to Minecraft. I always recommend at least half of your available Ram and no more than 2/3rds. It may help with the higher rendering distance before you jump to needing a new CPU. Though vanilla Minecraft really shouldn't need more than 4GB of Ram.

CPU: Intel Core i9-10900K 3.7 GHz 10-Core Processor
CPU Cooler: ASUS ROG RYUO III 360 ARGB White Edition All-in-one AIO Liquid CPU Cooler
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING ATX LGA1200 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (4 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Boosted to 4400MHz

Storage: 6 various HDDs and SSDs
Video Card: ASUS ROG Strix 3090
Case: Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL
Power Supply: Asus ROG Thor 1000w
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro
Monitor: Samsung Odyssey G9 OLED 49"
Keyboard: Logitech G915
Mouse: Logitech G502 LIGHTSPEED

i tried with optifine and i allocated all 16gb to it still takes very long to load all 24 chunks

Yeah, never allocate all of your Ram. You won't have any left for your system to run everything it does in the background.

But, like I said the best path to take with the CPU would be the 11700k. Obviously the best option would be the newest/best one you can afford. Reasonably even the 11600k would get you the performance you're looking for.

i think you should jump to am4 since the cpus and boards should be cheaper and a 5600(x) can be run at 4.7-4.8 allcore which will beat 11th gen

otherwise stick to your current board maybe add a vrm fan and put a 10600/11600(k) on it cause if you are swapping boards you might aswell swap to a better platform like am4

and the 12100/12400 get beaten by an overclocked 5600(x) due to their lousy clocks so minimum 12600k for lga 1700 if you wanna see a benifit over am4

well uh, im trying to stay all intel build there, and i dont see point going to lga 1700 unless i get alot of spare money

5600x > 11600k even stock and then you remember the 5600x can be overclocked with any non a board where intel requires an expensive z board

just drop in a 10600 or 11600, k or non k doesnt matter cause they have the same boost clocks, dont bother replacing the board or if you do swap the board only if you can find a cheap z board cause that board is salvagable with a vrm fan and maybe some heatsinks on the vrm if its that bad (which i suspect it isnt considering the vrm is similar to the b560m ds3h)

but this one has only 2 slots for memory which limits performance, when i built pc i haven't thought that i would just spend extra 200$ on buying new, i would've bought something better back then

no it doesnt

you mean limits capacity? best performance is with a dual rank kit and dual rank is possible on 2 slots

even then capacity wise you can still fit 64gb of ram on the thing, much cheaper to just buy a bigger ram kit if you really need the extra ram rather than wasting money on an uneccesary board upgrade

4x1R = 2x2R from tests and buying more ram is just a waste of extra time and money as i will be forced to save up for longer and sell old kit after it all

i mean you are forced to save up even longer to buy a new board when you could just sell your old ram kit and buy a bigger ram kit, at worst if you need to upgrade to 64gb the total cost (resell old kit) will be the same as buying a new board and thats not considering having to buy another 32gb kit for 4x4 and even then you may run into compatibility issues due to mismatched ics assuming you dont buy hynix/samsung bare pcb where a specific part number guarantees a specific ic

tbh id prefer having a 1dpc board just to be able to clock the rams to the moon, i mean my giga x58a ud3r does pretty well at 3200+ aside from the third channel crapping out at >2800 imagine what a foxconn bloodrage would do

i run 16gb, and i need that future upgradability for 32gb for more ram demanding games

just buy a 32gb kit its that simple

itll be alot cheaper than having to buy a board then having to buy a 16gb kit ontop of that

heck you might aswell buy a 64gb kit for the price of a new board + a 16gb kit

i dont think 64gb kit will be useful and will cost same as new mobos which go under 100$

if a 64gb kit is that cheap then go buy a 64gb kit

why the hell do you wanna waste your money on a board when youll still be stuck with a pile of crap that has 2 extra slots attatched ans only 16gb of ram instead of sticking with your mobo and getting 64gb of ram instead for the same price

if the 32GB don't give you use now, why even want a board with 4 slots to expand the RAM capacity?

no, they buy to have the performance now

why do you need 11700k? for future or to load 24 chunks in MC?

Is the non-K not available to you, new or used?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B
