I can't remove the Heatsink off of this GPU :(

SumTing

GPU : RTX 2070 SUPER ZOTAC GAMING

Tried and removed every possible screw off of this GPU and no matter how much I wiggled to "loosen" the Heatsink, doesn't even wiggle a millimeter. I just want to change its thermalpaste so bad 😩

I've change quite a lot of gpus, but this one just wouldn't let me. Other gpus would even fall off by just removing the 4 points holding down the actual GPU

You can spray some 99% isopropyl alcohol around the edges to loosen up pads and paste. Make sure to blow dry the card afterwards (dont cook the fucking card though).

I literally unscrewed everything. The only thing that I was able to at least remove was the whole fan.

I'll probably try that later.

If all the screws are out and the heatsink assembly is still not coming free, try removing the I/O bracket as well. If that doesn't help, then it's just the thermal paste and pads holding on for dear life. Warming up the card may help loosen their grip.

Then just apply force to separate the parts glued by paste
