4K TV for $499.99

joppetie

I just found this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BXF7I9M/ref=s9_hps_bw_g23_i3?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-5&pf_rd_r=0Y3Y54G2JEVGBW1Q7MEZ&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=1705366482&pf_rd_i=1288710011

It's only a 39" version, but the 50" and 65" are only $769.98 and $2,427.05 respectively. (the 65" is a bit expensive, but still!)

Can anyone verify if this is legit? I know it's Amazon, but you can never be too sure.

It's Seiki, they're cheaply priced and cheap quality.

I've actually heard of reviews that say that their TV's are quite good.

They are good. "For the price".

They are TV's. They work. The plastic is flimsy. And cheap looking. But they work and look "ok".

My sister owns a normal (HD) Seiki TV. I'm assuming they all look similar and are just as cheap. And it seems I'm right.

Another thread about these TVs?!  They only do 4k at 30Hz through HDMI, wait for a proper 4k TV or monitor to come out at a decent price.

"You get what you pay for..."

Except as a monitor, 4k isn't ready for prime time. There is nothing broadcast in 4K, and some classic movies still haven't even been converted to 1080p yet!

Just wait a year or two, and these prices will be the norm from reputable brands.

Not really seeing the purpose of 4K TV's. Everything won't be native 4K so it's just a waste!

BUT YOU CAN WATCH UNBOX THERAPY IN 4K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right now, all of those pixels are really great only for serious video editing and for having 4 documents open at the same time. For multimedia, 4K is fullretard.

I can see the purpose for computers but definitely not home entertainment. More of a bragging right than actually useful!

From what I understand, Seiki uses Samsung panels. But not really a surprise, as in, if you open up most TVs, you'll see Samsung components.
