I've used a variety of Cherry and Gateron browns and they've been great. Reds are to many the objectively better choice due to faster inputs but it's so negligible I would just do what you're comfortable with.

Yeah dude, almost any mechanical keyboard should do well, as long it's a reliable brand.

browns are alright, i guess
the reason why they're considered "good for gaming" is because the tactile bump on them is so small that they feel like scratchy reds once you're actually typing/gaming

Outside competitive gaming, i would recommend brown or blue. Blues are the best for typing IMO and I've grown so used to the tactile feedback that i prefer to game with them as well.

Reds are definitely the best for fast-twitch competitive gaming though hands down.

Browns are nice, I've been using them for years now. I hammer the keyboard when i type though so I also put on o rings. Anything you buy you'll get used to eventually, reds if you dont want a bump, browns if you do, blues are just noisey imo.

but thats the problem with the whole thing its opinion

Silent build - You know your pc is too loud when the deaf complain. Windows 98 gaming build, smells like beige

If you want a "truly" tactile switch that works for gaming and typing at the same time, go with Blues. Not taking the click into account, they have sharper and smoother tactile feedback.
Otherwise, stick with Reds or maybe try Blacks. Linears aren't very good for typing, just be warned.

@it_dont_work @Kalm_Traveler1 @ramencupofjoy @Collinator24 @geo3 @Shreyas1 @cdsboy2000 well what switch would be good for gaming? i only just do general typing and nothing to full on but i want a good switch for gaming that feels nice too

MX Clear lubed and spring swapped, or better Kailh pro purple, or Outemu ice purple, or even better still, Zealios.

If you like the clicky sound go with a click bar switch instead of a click jacket switch. Pretty much only Kailh makes click bar switches.

Reds(and all linear switches) are terrible for gaming because you have to guess when they activate.  Ok for typing though.

Blues(and all click jacket switches) are terrible for gaming because of large amounts of hysteresis. Making spaming much slower than a pure tactile switch. Ok for typing though.

Browns are meh for gaming because the tactile bump is so small it barely noticeable. Ok for typing though.

None of the MX switches are good switches in general because of the scratchiness. But this can be somewhat fixed with lube, but it still won't be a smooth as a Zealios or even normal Gateron and Kailh switches.

well if the MX switches are no good can you recommend a good keyboard with the Zealios, Gateron, Kailh or etc/any good keyboard for games like pubg, cs, fortnite, dead by daylight, etc and then just general typing and that. I've been using razer green switches which are classifed as 'tactile and clicky' i haven't minded these to be honest so i feel like these are kinda the same as brown switches,

https://www.pcgamingrace.com/products/gmmk-tkl-tenkeyless-customized  This is hot pluggable and lets you add any switch that's SMD compatible. Unfortunataly Zealios are not SMD compatible, but the others should be. That keyboard can be ordered with gaterons. You can get Kailh here: https://novelkeys.xyz/collections/switches And outemu purple switches here https://mehkee.com/products/outemu-switches-purple-teal.

For getting keyboards with Zealios you will need to order from some more boutique shops like https://kbdfans.cn/collections/fully-assembled-keyboard/products/ or consider building one yourself. Zealios are expensive though.
