If you have a complaint, concern or question about any moderator action that has been taken against you, please send a PM to me, @Whiskers and/or the moderator in question, and we will gladly discuss it. All complaints about moderation that I have been made aware of have either been completely unfounded or the result of misunderstandings or miscommunication, but if there was a case of moderator abuse then we would consider that to be a serious problem, and deal with it accordingly.   C

Is the account deletion “delete all posts” feature different than the moderator “hide posts from public view” feature?

I also drive a volvo as one does being norwegian haha, a volvo v70 d3 from 2016.

Reliability was a key thing and its my second car, working pretty well for its 6 years age xD

Yeah but that is a Mortis issue to resolve with IPS. That or we turn off the delete fuunction and he has to process every delete request again.

isnt it against some coutries law to not allow user data to be deleted upon request?

"user data" yes. I don't believe forum/social media/public posts fall under user data in those laws.

 

On this forum all posts get attributed to "guest" so there isn't really any connecting information anymore (unless that person has made a post that includes their photo or some other personally identifiable information)

 

in regards to the GDPR:

the deleting of an account, but not posts would still be compliant as it would become anonymized data.

Yes, deleting it is 100% gone and can not be restored to my knowledge. If its hidden from public view, it could be restored if its determined necessary.

yeah, but it would say it regardless of whether the post are deleted or not because it embeds it into your post.

Same with any @ tags.

That stays regardless of if your posts are deleted or anonymised. It's also explained during the account deletion process that quotes or tags in other peoples posts won't be removed.

Yes/no.

Mortis answers this in the forum suggestion or bugs sections... I have to find it.

Anyway, depending on certain factors a members account and info can be removed completely or kept to a degree pending on those circumstances.  I cannot fully give that answer, but mortis could. (not my place)

Meh, I have no run in this race, is not like my country cares about privacy and I probably won't delete my account even if I leave anyways, if I have addiction issue (I do), I'll just ask for suspension instead

My Samsung Odessy G7 is back from RMA repairs..

Workload done: Defective Mainboard

 

Oh boy, just hoping the screen doesnt flash and the buttons work again.
