Posted March 25, 2018 I don't know about other users but for me 4k is useless on desktop ( for gaming ) because 27" is the biggest monitor i can sit and look at , bigger than that i have to turn my head around , and 4k doesn't way more than 27" should have , 1440p I beleive is the best resolution and best size is 27" , usually sitting around 60cm away from the monitor so if its 4k i wont even notice the difference , on 1440p i cant see the pixels. HDR is nice , watching movies on Netflix etc.. but 4k for gaming i don't see the benefit , maybe if u want to turn off the filters and the 4k res will fix the jagged edges ? but then wts the point ? I was just saying people might get the wrong idea after reading your post. Saying "the G-Sync one won't even support DisplayHDR400" would be much more clearer than the current wording. Nvidia doesn't do that because it gives them higher FPS. The reason why you sometimes gets a limited color range when connecting a monitor to an Nvidia GPU using HDMI (specifically HDMI) is because the Nvidia driver assumes it is a TV. TVs work in the RGB Limited range, and if you process color information in the full RGB range, then send it to a device using RGB Limited, then your colors will be wrong. I am not sure if AMD devices are able to automatically detect if it should use RGB limited or full, but if they aren't then you will have the inverse problem of Nvidia->HDMI monitor when using AMD->TV. You can read more about it here and here. But like I said, this is only for HDMI connections. For VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, whatever else, it correctly assumes you are connected to a desktop monitor and uses the full RGB color range. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options... Posted March 26, 2018 I decided to get the LG 32GK850G instead, these monitors are gonna be *crazy* amounts of money!! I can live without HDR thanks!
