Well, back in March of last year I had replied to another member about the old DFI Lanparty board.

I don't have that board anymore but when searching an old hard drive that I was getting ready to scrap I found a picture of the system from 2007.  Man do I wish I could remember all the specs on that thing.

You know what???

I've got exactly that,in an "new old stock" condition!!

Like, with an original box,and all the accessories, that was there!

And a couple of the fans,as well.

How would you like that!!!!

Have all the VAT bills and boxes. All of them work. I upgraded from the Apple iBook 4 with the PowerPC CPU in 2012. So it meant a lot to me. I was in 6th grade at the time and it made a heaven and hell difference. There are two internal SATA 5400RPM HDDs from Toshiba. Then an external 1.5TB HDD from WD. The two CPUs are both 2nd Gen Intel Core i3 but completely different. One is the ball grid array (BGA) with the LGA 1155 socket and the other has the pins like AMD used at that time or the G2 socket or something which was common mobile chip at that time. Then the good old CD RW ROM and 8GB of single channel 1600Mhz RAM (upgraded in 2019; previously had 4GB of dual channel in 2+2 config at 1800Mhz.

This stuff is considered old?! Wow, time flies. Do you still have the old iBook G4? Those are nice machines.

And who are you to say something doesn't count? There aren't any hard rules for this thread, so if someone thinks something is old tech it can be posted. Do I think some of these posts qualify as old or retro? No, but they may be considered that way to someone else.

I think PCIe is old enough now it can count, it's almost 20 years old! Consumer hardware started rolling out with PCIe with the last gen of Pentium 4 CPU's from around 2006 I think but PCIe was available as early as around 2003 with Intel Grantsdale chipset. Not sure when AMD rolled out PCIe.

OK, My Toshiba Tecra M7

Bought it years ago on eBay from Brazil

I can't show it working at the moment as it fails to turn on without a drive in it

Fitted a 'close enough' US layout keyboard I'm in the UK

Wanted to run 64-bit programs on it so i swapped out the 32-bit Centrino for a 64-Bit (intel 64) Core 2 Duo T7600 and 4GB of Crucial RAM

It'll work when i get round to popping an SSD in it and still has BOTH the pens 😁

I miss my Tecra M5. Upgraded it to a Core 2 Duo T7600 (from Core Duo T2600), 4GB RAM, 60GB SSD , 12 cell battery and expansion bay battery (was DOA 😞 ). Would have had over 12 hours battery life if it worked.

Another retro activist here.

boxes full of ISA/PCI videocards and soundcards and motherboards from most sockets like socket3, socket4,socket5,socket7, supersocket7, socket8,pentium2, 3, athlonxp etc.

Only kept whats expensive, like SB16 cards, PAS16, two gravis ultrasound,  AWE32 and awe64gold, and trashed all regular awe64

Videocards i got some gems like all voodoo cards, about 3 geforce256 cards, and many other models until 8800gt

the silver lian li was black, the owner ruined it with scratches and dents, had to remove the black with caustic soda, still a work in progress.

the thermaltake lanfire is my main pc for casual gaming, it has a digital touch screen thermaltake commander fan controller

During the past 3 years i have bought all that i ever dreamed on having. There are just a few missing things i would like to get like an inwin A500 case, or a lianli pc60, and a siluro geforce3
