There was an update to the Code for Core22 yesterday. Usually this is transparent and when loading a WU utilizing the updated core the rig will simply just download the new core. However, if you have multiple GPUs and other GPUs are still using the old core file the first system will stall at "Upating Core" until all the other slots finish.

 

My solution was to pause all the slots then un-pause the slot stuck at "Updating Core" which allowed the core to update and I then was able to un-pause the rest of the cores.

 

In this case it worked but in cases where the core update is more complex it could result in the other WUs which were still in progress dumping.

this happened to me on my rigs, you literally have to pause the whole setup and unpause the updating core on and let it update and start.  i have had to do this multiple times on my rigs until all slots are running the updated core.  Kinda a pain but oh well.

What made it seem funny was not being worth the point value for the time.  I have had a good bit of 3-4 hour WU's, even a 5hr.  But those tend to get massive amounts of points.  They also have the GPU pinged to 100% the whole time.

 

This specific WU was using barely more than half my GPU (53-60%), took >5 hours, and got 70,000 for it lol.  Normally it would clear 400-500,000 in that amount of time.  It was just odd, I honestly thought something was wrong with the GPU that it never seemed able to utilize itself the whole time.  But then in gaming test, and WUs since its been fine, 100% utilization, 100% power.  Must be some kind of weird WU that doesnt use GPUs efficiently?

its using my Cuda cores at 98-99% personally.

I looked on the forum that @Gorgon posted, and it seems to be an issue with 14301 on Windows systems. They claim to have restricted 13401 to Linux now.

At some point it'll just be the P106-100 folding 24x7 in the basement, the other systems will go dark once it's gotten warm here but until then I'm going to make some gains as fast as I can and get as far as I can. I MIGHT put the RX580 into the system with the P106-100, but I'll need to get slimmer fans for it to fit both cards into the board and a stronger CPU that means I lose the passive CPU cooler on that system. I'm trying to build the P106 into a system I only need to check on once every few months to blow a little dust out of a run some security updates.

same here No Mercenaries here either.  iZac will be going offline shortly as done testing the new cooler...Calculon is only folding Now due to low temps & F&%# Covid-19 bender will take over on his own once temps go up and he will be booted to the living room this summer and re-invited to the office this fall when temps go down. and all my laptops are folding on Rosetta @ home.

Hi everyone, so I just installed a new cpu and motherboard into my computer as well as upgrading to Windows 10 pro. However my gpu doesn’t exist on the list of devices and I can’t fold with it. Would anyone know why? I’ve installed every driver update I could and that didn’t solve it either. Thanks

That's why systems will be going into my basement, it stays between 65 and 75F all year long, usually around 70 on the dot.

Also go to Nvidia.com and load the latest driver. my 2060 acted strange till i loaded the nvidia driver not just the one that come on win 10

 

err nvm i am blind i missed the driver version there...

sometimes it doesn't auto add the cards and seems that is common so far on this build for F@H
