Fucking incredible, I don't mind admitting I got a little emotional when the rocket cleared the pad.

That simultaneous landing... Haven't seen anything more impressive. I think.

 

And to accompany the Roadster they sent into space, they sent up a driver with no face.

Im pretty sure I saw a camera on the ground filiming it and they just cut it off a couple seconds before touchdown

There is normally 3 cameras, 1 on the rocket, 1 on the ground, 1 backup on the ground. But when it comes to the drone ship, there is only 2, one on the rocket, one on the ship.

I saw that too, would be nice to see it from a far away shot, just like with those twin rockets. And you can hear the audience cheering, so they must have seen it land.

So does anyone have confirmation on the Core booster? Did it crash? Or was it also a successful landing?

Reporters are saying on twitter it lost all communication with the drone ship camera, so it'll probs take a while to get out there.

the chase aircraft should be on scene soon.

 

hopefully if it did fail it went to full abort before it was on top of the drone ship... if that's the case we might need to name the core booster "I Sunk Your Battleship".

The core booster was mentioned only by a "We've lost it" in the audio-only stream, so don't get your hopes up for seeing that thing standing up.

 

Other than that, fucking hell that was amazing.

Just one more step (flight?) closer to Mars. It would be great to see a Mars landing in our lifetime but that would be a long shot. Plus the flight would take years maybe decades.

is on an elliptical trajectory around the  Sun that will have as higher and lower point mars' and earth's orbits respectively
