what cpu has the most pcie lanes?

I am trying to make a rig with two intel xeon e7-8894 v4 CPUs but using them I can only access 64 of the 112 pcie lanes on my motherboard if anyone knows a better alternative please tell me. (has to be lga 2011/2011-3

Well anything from the AMD Epyc line has a metric fuck-ton of PCIe lanes. I don't know in specific but thats the most I know of.

Bit of an AMD fan I suppose. I don't bias my replies to anything however, I just prefer AMD and their products. Buy whatever the H*CK you want.

AMD EPYC server CPUs have 128 PCIe Gen 3 lanes each, up to 256 on a 2-socket board.

If you look at your Xeons' product sheet

They have a Max of 32 PCIe Gen 3 lanes each, which is why you can only access 64 lanes on your motherboard. I'm unsure whether there are CPUs in the LGA 2011 socket that have more than 32. Though that makes it weird that your 2xLGA 2011 board supports up to 112 lanes then.

Then you'll have to use the intergrated chipset hub. Most tasks don't actually the full lanes tho

Just to make sure everyone is on the same page, @DGC, LGA-2011 is different from LGA 2011-3; they are NOT interchangeable.

 

The ASUS Z10PE-D8 WS is LGA 2011-3, and supports E5 V4 and V3 Xeon CPUs.

E7 is not on the supported list.

 

Also the board does NOT support 112 PCI-E lanes.

It is NOT 7 x 16.

 

If you look at the specifications:

Quote

4 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (dual x16 or quad x8) *2
2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (dual x16) *2
1 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (dual x8) *2

That is only a total of maximum of 80.

Which makes sense, as each CPU is 40 lanes, so two CPUs is 80.

 

 

Basically, LGA 2011-3 Xeon will not meet the requirements that you need, and as @JDE and @Energycore mentioned, AMD EPYC might be your calling card.
