I plugged a new KingSpec NT-512 m.2 512GB SSD drive in the available empty slot but the BIOS does not see it. Is there any adjustment to be made for this add on?

I'm currently running out of USB ports in my PC so I wanted to get an internal USB expansion card. After looking on Amazon however, there are hundreds of different cards from various manufacturers that I have never heard of and the reviews don't make them seem more legit. Can anyone recommend a card that fits all the following requirements: - USB 3.0 or higher - 4 ports or more - Has a reliable warranty/good support Preferable but not required: - Black PCB - Self-powered

My current gpu (3080) is in the x8 slot & my sound card is in the x16 slot, I had my pc built for me & was wondering if I swapped my gpu w my sound card, would I have to change any settings in my bios & would I get thermal performance issues or performance issues overall because I didn't have it in the x16 slot originally? I'm asking because I plan to clean the pc but I wanted to do this as well but I'm not sure if its even worth taking the risk. My mb is a maximus x hero (wifi ac)

Hi, I hope you are well! I am hoping someone on here can help me! My pc has 2 x 2080s installed into 2/3 pcie x16 slots. I want to install a 3060ti also using a GPU riser for mining, when I plug the riser in and power it and the card the fans don't spin and the bios shows nothing connected in the PCIe x1 ports. From my understanding my CPU has 24 available pcie lanes Each 2080 is using 8 lanes, (16 in total) I also have an m.2 SSD which is using 4 lanes, so I should have 4 lanes spare.. Perhaps it's a bios setting but I can't see any

My friend has an Asus H110-Plus Motherboard in his prebuilt system. He is trying to install a wifi card however it wont work since the gap in the pcie on the lower 3 full size slots is off to the right side instead of the left on the upper full size slot and 2 mini slots. Yes he tried using the mini slots but they are both blocked by the graphics card. Just curious if anyone know why these pcie slots are "backwards" or what the use purpose is for them since most pcie cards wont be able to be used with them. See attachment for reference

Just wondering if my B550 (PCIe 4.0) and RTX 3060 Ti (PCIe 4.0) will work with a PCIe 3.0 riser cable? Don't worry about the speed between each. Thanks for any help!

Second PCIE Slot broken or just disabled ?
veerteex posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hello together, i just bought and installed the MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS Motherboard in my PC. With a Ryzen 9 3900x. (btw i use arch ) As i like to use Gpu Passthrough I put the fist GPU (rx580) in the fist slot and my second GPU(rtx2070s) in the second. Both gpu's work fine in the fist slot but in the second neither of them works. So I updated the bios in hope it will work after the update but it didn't . So here's my question. Is the second PCIE slot broken? Or is it just disablet in the bios? I would like to know because then I could still replace -
Hello I recently took apart a build in order to wait for new parts to arrive where I noticed this small scratch located on the pcie pins closest to the io. I won't have a chance to test to see if the scratch is detrimental however the card was fully functional before removing it. Do you believe this scratch is deep and thus would affect the operation/functionality of the card? Thank you. p.s scratch is mainly visible with excessive lighting (as in using a torch). In natural lighting the scratch is only slightly noticible from cert

Hi, I've been using the Phanteks Evolv Shift X case for some time. It has a small X470-I motherboard and a 2700X processor so the number of PCIe lanes is limited. I have two M.2 NVMe disks so for the graphics card I stay X8 instead of X16. In the beginning I used the GTX 1080 Ti, now the RTX 3080. And that's all the time in the X8 and all in all, I don't notice any big drops in FPS (ignoring the CPU that currently limits the card). How is it with link width, is it not using even half PCIe speed most of the time?

Introduction During a recent build using an SM951 SSD, I had some problems getting either version (AHCI or NVMe) to boot on a Q77 chipset board. Now obviously the NVMe version wasn't going to work, but I was curious to find out why the AHCI version would not boot. So here's my adventure to share with you all, and hopefully help you get yourself running with with new NVMe SSDs on an older system too! Information • This will ONLY work for boards which have UEFI! Old style BIOSes WILL NOT WORK! • Do not try this unless you are willing to risk possibly bricking your UEFI

I am building a new system with some Christmas upgrades, and I have ran into quite a weird issue my entire PC turns on, the fans, the motherboard, the cpu radiatior/pump etc. except my graphics card, but the weird thing is the fans spin, but the green led light does not turn on and my monitors do not have a signal from my graphics card (black screen when PC is turned on), here are a few trouble shooting things that I have already debunked 1. It is not my power supply because every other thing in my case turns on except the gpu (its a 850w 80+ Gold, and i have a 2080ti) 2. It may not

Hi. Has anyone else tried non graphics PCIe cards in an eGPU enclosure? I did see in one of the LTT M1 Mac reviews that showed a 10G ethernet card working within a Razer Core X on a new M1 chip. Perhaps this is something that could be explored in an LTT to show other ways of gaining connectivity (obviously with some performance penalty due to running Thunderbolt and not having it directly in a PCIe slot). Even with a supposed performance penalty I was able to run 4 seperate 4K at 60Hz display outputs with hardware playback from a video projection program called Madmapper from an MSI RX580

I have just bought a GTX1660 Super from ebuyer and then realised I needed an 8 Pin PCI-E Adaptor. I took the back panel off my gaming PC and saw an 8 PIN PCIE cable but it was being used by my motherboard. I had then decided to go on amazon and buy a SATA (15 Pin) to 8 Pin GPU Adaptor. It fits in alright to the SATA but I was wondering if it would be ok to use because my GPU hasn't arrived yet and I don't want to damage it. I have also found a better cable that has 2 SATA inputs to 8 Pin GPU but I would have to sacrifice the LED on my case and one of my fans. Does anyone know what I should do?

Well the cables on my PSU wont fully go in even when I feel a lot of resistance, but I tried three different PSUs and they go in perfectly so the GPU is not faulty. Also the connectors should be fine since they "worked" on my old 1070ti and on a second GPU that I have.

Hello, I bought the B550 Vision D and I have a quick question. I want to know if the board will be able to handle 2 NVME M.2 SSDs, a high end GPU, a capture card (most likely plugged into the second PCIE slot) and SATA drives. Are there going to be any limitations? The hardware that I’m planning on installing is as follows. Ryzen 9 5900x RTX 3080 Sabrent Rocket Nvme M.2 PCIE 4 and 1xPCIE 3 Avermedia Live Duo And the SATA drives (SSDs and HDDs). From what I gather, if the 2 M.2 slot are populated, the third PCIE slot is disabled. Plus, I don

So I've been told that it is generally better to use two separate PCIe power cables to plug into a GPU, specifically power hungry ones. I recently ordered a 3070, and got a buyer for my 1070 sooner than I anticipated, so I've been using an old 980 until my new card gets here. I was running it on a single PCIe cable for a few days, then decided to plug in a second one, and turned over my PSU so it was face up while I was there. I instantly noted more frames in Cyberpunk with an overclock, but after about an hour my PC rebooted and now there are artifacts on the screen.

This is gonna be a lot, but bear with me, please. So, as the title suggests, I bought the 850w straight power 11 for my system. Cpu is ryzen 5800x, gpu is aorus 3080 xtreme, which is a three 8-pin card. Here is some info on the psu: It comes with two seperate 6+2 PCIe cables, and one dual 6+2 cable that is split down the middle, like this: It has a 12-pin side that goes into the psu: (as opposed to the single 6+2 cables, which have 8 pins on the psu side.) That cable is an extra be quiet! se

i am planning on getting Asus Dark Hero, Ryzen 5950x has 20 PCIe lanes then i was wondering if it will be able to run GPU (2080ti) in x16 mode while gaming? if i have used all M.2 slots (one M.2 is purely windows and other one is purely linux mint, ext4 format) 1 PCIe x4 slot (chipset connected slot) used for 10 gig networking card 1 PCIe x1 slot used for sound card okay if u don't know about above then can you point me to the place from where i can start to understand how CPUs use PCIe lanes? it will be a big help! Hello, today my m.2 will arrive and I have found some things about it, and I am not really sure so I come here to ask because most of you people know better than me. So I have read that this CORSAIR m.2 NVMe MP600 Corsair MP600 Force Series, 1 TB High-speed Gen 4 PCIe x4, NVMe M.2 SSD (Sequential Read Speeds of Up to 4,950 MB/s and Write Speeds of Up to 4,250 MB/s): Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories can slow down the GPU. I know only that right know it is PCIe x16 the GPU.. and after I will use this M.2 NVMe it will half it to x8 and use 2 of the sata ports??? That is

I currently run a 2070 super that seems to be faulty and cant run at stock speeds and so I've needed to underclock it, I've been able to comfortably run most games with little to no artifacting up until cyberpunk released, now I've seemingly reached the limit of the card while keeping it underclocked. Because of all this I'm finally considering getting a new gpu, only problem is I cheeped out on the motherboard during the initial build of my pc and only have a pcie 2.0 x16 slot for a gpu, from what I've read the memory bandwidth of a 2.0 slot is 8Gbps at a x16, while the 3070 card itself runs

Hello guys, i'm thinking of buying a 1TB ssd for storing my games and here where i live the prices i have for an PCIe, for exemple the corsair mp400, is arround 120€ and a SATA one, for example the Samsung 870 QVO, is arround, also, 100-120€. My question is, is it worth the PCIe for the games? But for these prices why not go for PCIe? I don't know what to do xD. Thanks for the help Bye

Okay so as crazy as it sounds, high speed WiFi is kinda new to me so bear with me here. My roommate and I have the exact same PCIe WiFi card as we unfortunately cannot use ethernet connections at our new house . Specifically its the TP-Link AX3000 (Archer TX50E). Our ISP is AT&T, and we are signed up for the 1,000 plan. Our connection is a symmetrical fiber optic connection, so our download and upload speeds should be roughly the same from what I understand. I am getting about around about 600-700 down (not the full speed but its WiFi so I obviously expected that), and about 500-600 up.

I'm, currently saving up for a new PC, but I'm still saving as I don't currently have enough (and nothing is in stock either). However, I'm running dangerously low on storage, and am thinking of just purchasing the SSD I was planning to use as my boot drive in my new PC now, and save it for when I eventually build my new PC. I just wanted to make sure that the SSD I'm currently looking at buying is compatible with my current system. The SSD I'm looking at is this: https://shop.westerndigital.com/products/internal-drives/wd-black-sn850-nvme-ssd#WDS100T1X0E-00AFY0, t

Source: https://www.tomshardware.com/amp/news/asrock-m2-graphics-card I could see this good for really small builds that want a gpu with more power than an IGPU. If this could be better called a video accelerator card to give an extra boost to performance. With some development I think this could be used to great effect in small cheep laptops found in big box stores to give them a better edge. I do understand that this version is meant for "Legacy Connection" But it could be really cool for all kinds of cool stuff. Perhaps even for video editing. I
