Does changing game affinity on task manager count as cheating?

I just got "suspended" from Warframe until the year 2035, a time which the game wouldn't be relevant anymore, most likely, for saying I've violated the EULA. I contacted them and this is their response1510781639249.jpg.0c81a9b67e451d82a224347687125584.jpg
Now I don't know what this "multiple instances of suspicious activity" they are talking about. As far as cheating goes, I don't use bots or macros, purchase platinum (the in-game premium currency) from suspicious sources, or use some other kinds of exploits. The only thing that I've been consistently doing for the past few weeks I've been playing Warframe is change my game's affinity in Task Manager to not include Core 0 cause there seems to be some issues with it that cause my games to stutter. Since you can only set affinity once the program is up and running, I always alt-tab out of the game to change it.

Now maybe it was some over-the-line jokes I make in my clan, or maybe I'm taxiing lower MR people way too much, I'm not sure. Looking at their EULA, that's the only thing I can recall that might be considered "cheating".

I'm not really looking to get unbanned from the game or anything. At this point I don't really give a damn. I'm just looking for some sort of possible justification from them and I don't think I'm getting any.

Has anyone ever experienced such problems? I only saw one post on reddit about someone being banned from a game for changing affinity, but they said it was only temporary. Should I have not done anything to the task and just suck it up cause my PC is bad?

I Don't see how or why that could get you banned, i would email back asking to know the actual reason you were banned appose to "multiple instances of suspicious activity", i feel like you should be entitled to the information regarding why the account was banned.

There's no advantage if you change the affinity or something.

However i wouldn't be surprised if they think you were analyzing the game because something detected 4 cores or whatever but could only access 3 of them, assuming something suspicious is running on the 4th core that would trigger the anti-cheat, but it triggered anyway but whatever...

Yes it is, you cheater!!! Having a better CPU than your competitor is also cheating!!!

I would say no, but some programs pick up when you alt tab out of it and don't like you changing anything.

If I were you, I would explain your situation and try to appeal the ban.

That sounds incredibly silly.

If changing the affinity was considered "cheating", then they should instantly get shot to Mars without a return ticket.

Nah, probably they detected something else in your system. A friend of mine got banned in online game because his PC got some malwares running in the background and somehow that triggered VAC.

I’m not good when it comes to modern games (I have two Steam games that I’ve never played. That’s my entire library) but what they’re saying doesn’t make any sense. I’d email back and try to get someone to tell you exactly what you did wrong.

Multiple instances literally mean there are multiple pieces of software running that are triggering their in-game monitoring system. VAC or some other anti-cheat system. In past just running peripherals driver has caused alerts of cheating. Demand to know what process was the trigger. Otherwise thats just overdoing something.
