Unfortunately it looks like it might be out of our control - we have previously had issues with users who were connected to the Chicago Cloudflare datacentre (which you have done based on that trace). I reported it to Cloudflare support at the time, and they provided me with a completely unrelated trace and said it's likely to be an issue on the network between Cloudflare and our origin server. I will try contacting them again, but I would guess that I'll just get a similar response unfortunately.

OK, so let me start off by saying that I love these forums. They are very clean, helpful, and entertaining. I do have one issue though, and this may not be easily fixable: I get lots of slowdowns, quite often, too. It's not an issue with my internet, but I'm not sure whether the servers can't handle the sheer number of users, or if it's something else. Thoughts? Thanks!

I don’t really have an issue with slowdowns at all, works fine on my phone and PC.

Location? Trust me, server isn't issue. But it might be Cloudflare doing something. I haven't had slowness for some time.

Definetly not server as its US based. Probably Cloudflare. As said, I haven't had any slowdowns that I would have noted since summer.

no slowdowns for me over here in the netherlands either. so probably something client side, or cloudflare being a jerk! :P

What counts as a slowdown? 3s page loads? 10s? 1m? 10m?

The only slowdown I have seen is when I edit a post it can take 6 seconds (sometimes) to get loaded for me to edit, the main page can take about 4 seconds, other than that it is fast as hell and smooth.

Instructions for frustration management:  

1) Sit at desk.   2) Repeatedly slam forehead against desk.

 

I never said I was smart, just smart enough to be dangerous.

@kelvinhall05 Is it still happening? If so, does it always happen (every page load is slow), or just sometimes? Is it also slow on a different internet connection, such as when browsing on your phone?
