Hey fellow Canadians! Thought I'd create a place for us to hang and chat about Canada related things. Others are welcome of course (We are Canadian after all  What else do you expect!) 

 

Things I want to know  What province are you in, Major city or small city, Internet rating, City rating, Canada as a whole rating , If you were showing someone around the country for the first time, which province or territory would you start in (@hey_yo_ This ones for you), Best way to travel across Canada, Do you like snow? Do you like Winter? Which do you like more? etc Polls in next few posts

British Columbia, more specifically, Richmond. Best way to travel? Mhmmm car and ferry. Lots of beautiful views along BC Ferries routes.

I'm from Minnesota, so basically South Canada. 

Haven't had Maple Syrup from Canada but I've had Minnesotan Maple Syrup and that shit is good.

I've tried Poutine, on many occasions and like it.

Apparently it's Québec style but when I google Québec style I get Poutines that use like a brown gravy and this is a turkey/poultry gravy. I first tried it at my county fair a few years back, and they've been at the state fair for a few years now too.

I have a Canadian flag because I thought a French flag would be too cliché and Switzerland, idk I kinda felt their flag was boring but I wanted some kind of flag lol. I got it back in 8th grade when I went to a language camp for French. I stopped taking French when I dropped out of school last year, 11th grade. In hindsight I regret that. I'm noticing I'm sorta off on a little tangent lol.

I'm a 6 almost 7 hour drive from Winnipeg, MB. That's closer than what the drive is from my city to where my boyfriend lives in Alabama.  Why does North America/The US gotta be so big.

Alberta, in the most populated city this far north in Canada.

A lot of the area is getting fiber, so I'll go with good? My building currently caps out at 50mbps.

City is ok. Great for high paying jobs, shitty for public transport, weather isn't that great, culture is poor.

 

I like the look of snow, I don't like what else it brings

On topic, as is known, I'm from Southwestern Ontario, near the most populated part of the province. I have Gigabit Internet (FTTN, 1Gbps Down, 50Mbps Up) - the city I live in is great. Most of the benefits of Toronto without the downside of living/traveling around in Toronto (Seriously, GTA traffic sucks balls).

 

Canada is not perfect, but I'm a proud patriot and love living here. There are things that need improving, but I believe we can work together to improve the areas needed without sacrificing things like Education and Medical coverage.

 

If I were showing someone Canada, I would bring them to Ontario first, because that's where I live and what I know. It's also the biggest population and the biggest industrial sector (non-oil related, anyway).

 

After that, I would probably show them BC and then the Maritimes. And if they were brave enough to deal with the weather, the far north (NWT/Yukon/Nunavut).

$400-$500 a month? That's $4800 to $6000 a year.

 

Either they are really young and driving an expensive car, or they've gotten a TON of tickets/accidents, etc.

 

I pay a considerable amount for a male in his early 30's at around $200/month. And that's only because I got nailed for rolling through a stop sign and therefore got a ticket.
