hahahahaha that's not much

try BC ~$3000-5000 for new drivers a month hahaha

Also canadian coins suck

I'm sorry, but I straight up simply don't believe you. That would be $36,000 to $60,000 per year for insurance premiums. There's literally no way.

According to that, in 2012, the average rate for BC was $1163 per year. That's like a three thousand percent increase in 5 years.

My friend from high school who’s now living in Ontario told me that car insurance is expensive in Ontario at around $400-500 per month.

Holy hell that's high! Manitoba I find is between $90 and $300 Obviously it can go higher but that's only if your driving something like a bugatti or some other super valuable car.

Just so you know, it's "eh", not "ey"... If you're gonna stereotype us, at least get it right ;)

On topic, as is known, I'm from Southwestern Ontario, near the most populated part of the province. I have Gigabit Internet (FTTN, 1Gbps Down, 50Mbps Up) - the city I live in is great. Most of the benefits of Toronto without the downside of living/traveling around in Toronto (Seriously, GTA traffic sucks balls).

Canada is not perfect, but I'm a proud patriot and love living here. There are things that need improving, but I believe we can work together to improve the areas needed without sacrificing things like Education and Medical coverage.

If I were showing someone Canada, I would bring them to Ontario first, because that's where I live and what I know. It's also the biggest population and the biggest industrial sector (non-oil related, anyway).

After that, I would probably show them BC and then the Maritimes. And if they were brave enough to deal with the weather, the far north (NWT/Yukon/Nunavut).

Eh bud, just so u know i am canadian, born and raised. on a different topic my internet speed frickin sucks, 40mbps down and 10 mbps up, I live about 2 hours south of tornonto

Hey guys,

Proudly Canadian -- born and raised!  Grew up in Ottawa, live there right now.  However, I did spend a year out in Vancouver -- what a beautiful (but damned expensive) city!  I moved back home to be close to my parents as they're getting a bit old and my mom was ill for some time.

If I had to choose, however, I'd live in Vancouver again in a heartbeat.  The scenery is amazing, the culture is great, the food is fantastic, and I'd gladly put up with the rain if that means retiring my snow shovel!  Just need to double my salary before I could make that happen again...

Since you're new to Canada, I would say visit Quebec City first as it's rich in pre-Confederation history.  Then check out Montreal for a bit of Euro-style culture and lifestyle.  Ottawa's great if you're into architecture and, in the winter, there's the Canal, which is the longest outdoor skating rink in the World.  Vancouver's a great place to be as well, I find it incorporates everything that's awesome about the other large Canadian cities and molds into one.

If you can manage it, rent a car and spend a week driving from one end of the country to the other.  That, imo, is how you'll be able to fully appreciate the beauty and grandeur of this great country.

Anyways, here are my stats:

I'm a single, 26yo male driving a Fiat 500, so my insurance is decent, but not the cheapest.  In Ontario, I'm paying about $133/mo.  In BC, I used to pay $250 (fuck ICBC up the ass)!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't pay rent right now, but when I was in Vancouver, I had a 700 sqft 1 bedroom for $2100/mo (yeah....).  This entire country's getting a bit expensive to live in atm -- I guess everyone's realizing how nice it is to live here...

My internet is amazing -- I get 150mbps down from Rogers with the option to upgrade to 1gbps.

I just signed up with VideoTron as they're expanding to Ontario -- unlimited everything with 6gb of data for $49.99.

The used market (in London, ON anyways) sucks ass. That's one of the biggest drawbacks about living here IMO.
