Is Witcher 3 still worth it?

Slaxc

Witcher 3 GOTY edition is on sale right now on Steam for 20$ which seems like a steal but not sure if I should buy it or save my money. I came from console and have never played any games like this so I don't know if it will be a waste of money for me . I watched some videos and it looked boring when it comes to combat but I honestly don't know. I have to spend my money wisely as I spent almost all of it on my new PC so I can't really buy a ton of games. Does anyone have any reasons to and not to get it? Have you ever felt bored of it at any point and just like quit the game for a short time?

Are you kidding? The Witcher 3 is by all means the best game to have come out in ages, it restores my faith in gaming xD

Serious though if you like story driven single player games it is impossible find a better one, it has beautiful graphics, awesome captivating story, you have a lot of decisions you can take with plenty effect on the story itself, great main character (Geralt makes all the latest shitty characters from Ubishit titles look even shittier, especially the Watch Dog 1 and 2 ones).

It has Yennefer and Triss that alone makes the game's worth again xD Any ways I can't recommend it enough, if you're the kind of person to really get into the story, The Witcher 3 is like Red Dead Redemption you're in it for a long awesome drive... play the game without rushing it, savor every event as if its your life.

Still to this day one of my dads favorite series. He still has the older games installed and plays them from time to time, and he's working through the DLC packs for 3. He constantly tells me to play it, says it's one of the best games ever made. He has pretty good taste so I'll go ahead and say it's worth it.

I just got into PC gaming and really want to explore new titles and genres. I think it will be a great buy. Does GOTY edition come with all DLCS?

How do you choose the different characters? I've heard a lot about them. I don't fully understand it.

Boyyy..u have no idea how awesome that game is..
Sure its not one of those hack n slash fast pacing genre but doesnt mean its boring that game has tactical dynamic combat..in higher difficulty u cant just blindly swinging yoursword like crazy u gotta have strategy..each monster/enemies has it own weakness u gotta find it by brewing potion, cast sign, choosing the proper sword, etc

Seriously Witcher 3 is the best RPG games i've ever played BAR NONE.

Great story,character,combat,graphics and VOICE ACTING..

It does has long cutscenes but imo its worth watching u can always skip it though..my favorite scenes is when lambert, geralt and eskel get drunk..it was so funny.

Is it grindy by chance? I usually love grindy games and working towards getting the best overall character.

U cant..u only control Geralt and Ciri but u cant choose them..the game will decide when u use certain character based on the story.

Its RPG games..Grinding always exist..

U'll grind ingredient to create potion, armor, weapons and wicher gear u can also buy them from merchant but its gonna cost u a lot of gold..

Definitely going to pick it up before the sale is over. Thanks for the help, PC gaming has been incredible so far. I wan't to get into a ton of different games explore different genre.

It has about 200 hours of content. It's hardly a game. It's a lifestyle.

I dabble in it for about 1 to 5 hours a week. I've been playing since March 2017.

Its on sale on GOG, SUPER CHEAP.

And it is probably worth double of what they charged on launch, so it is almost like they are giving it for free.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.

Just so you know, this forum is very Witcher 3 biased. I agree with you that the combat looks really fucking boring. Dragon age Inquisition has much better combat. I play a lot of hack n slash games though like Bayonetta so you can I see why I prefer something more involved like dragon age
