Returning to android which phone to get

ChrisLombart

I have an iPhone 7 at the moment and I miss my stock android experience that i used to have on my nexus 6p. I can currently sell my iPhone 7 for enough to buy myself a new oneplus 5, is it worth getting a oneplus 5 instead of the iPhone 7 or should I just wait out my contract :/. I’m worried that I might regret it, because it technically is a budget phone and i have a very high end phone currently, but I don’t feel as if I’d be losing anything... what do you guys think? Should I get the oneplus 5 to return to android or is it too much of a downgrade from the iPhone 7

I've just got my Xiaomi mi note 4, and have to say it is VERY good for a budget phone, build quality is excellent, great features and UI, very responsive and quick and brilliant battery life... at the moment on low-medium usage I have got almost 3 days out of this since last charge, and currently on 48% battery left. Only paid £117 from China.

Get the Pixel 2 XL or you'll end up regretting it. If you can trade someone for an S8 I say give it a shot. I've used Samsung phones before and I hated them. Tried this one and its miles away the best Android phone I've gotten my hands on.

I'm currently waiting for that phone because it's out of stock again... but so far from what i saw and heard it seems like a great phone.

At least for me that's for sure.

I guess but selling my iPhone 7 would only cover half the cost of the pixel 2 :(

I sold my iPhone 7 plus a few months back to return to android. SInce then I've gone through 3 android phones and I am thinking of selling the s8 plus I've owned for 2 weeks to go back to iOS.

Make sure you're certain it's what you want to do, I've spent the last hour debating whether or not to try get back into a 7 plus (the 8 plus is too expensive considering how much I've spent already).

That's the way I feel at the minute, can't find a phone with the same level of polish as my old iPhone. I'm happy to give up my customisation to get that level of 'polish' back

Ehh, I'm kind of on the train of "Can't miss what I never had". Was always a cheapskate when it came to phones.

I'm the opposite, I've spent a couple thousand this year alone on phones. Kinda ridiculous when you think about it but I make enough that I can afford it

My mentality for selecting a phone for myself as the same as with desktops. Price to performance comes a very distant first for considerations.

My mentality is not wanting to compromise on anything, which is a near impossible thing to achieve

Anything else I need beyond hardware, I simply force the phone to bend to me (more recently, by means of ROM flashing).

As someone who spent a ton on their first Android smart phone only to find there were a lot of cheaper options, I'd say just make a list of what you actually care about and buy something affordable that meets those requirements. I buy previous years flagships almost exclusively you get them for so much cheaper and I'm sorry but a Snapdragon 820 vs 835 does not make phone worth twice as much. My Xperia Z3 cracked and I am using a cheap as hell Moto G4 play and while yes it is temporary and I will be upgrading it is more than adequate for me.
