That's really great storage capacity to have on smartphone for like a ton of 4K footage and whatever.

It sucks that many of the devices I would use this in don't support capacities that large.

i think the limit on my security camera is like 32GB

I genuinely want to know what is going through peoples' heads when they read this as "400GB SD Card," when Sandisk has had 512GB SD cards for a decent amount of time.

Maybe it was something along the lines of a cheaper than 512GB card, but more capacity than 256GB?

I'm honestly more interested in CFast 2.0 which uses SATA and ready for CFexpress cards to start being released.

CFast is horrible, my cinema cameras all use it. SD cards are better value for money and SSDs are drastically better value for money and perform better.

This is regarding MICRO SD cards. (Because people seemed to gloss over this detail)

Read my statement a few more times. See if you get what I'm trying to say.

Honestly, your statement was kind of ambiguous.  I questioned if you were confused about the title or commenting about the posters, but it wasn't entirely clear.

Reread it like 5 times. If you're still confuzzled, I can't help much.

The second paragraph is what made it ambiguous.  If you just posted the first paragraph, I would have been more inclined to read it as commenting about other posters.  The second paragraph made it seem more like you were confused about the topic at hand.

So a 400GB flash card the size of your fingernail. Yet we still have to shell out obscene amounts of money for a 500GB 2.5" SSD's, let alone the 500GB nvme SSD's. The nand market is fracked up at the moment.

Not really comparable. SSDs are far more reliable and faster than any SD card. Plus, NAND Flash is in everything these days and prices cannot come down as the small handful of manufactures are unable to keep up with demand.

It's pretty neat, but my question is how do devices that rely on storage take advantage of this if some cap out at 256? It's kind of a bummer.

Presumably newer devices will have support for larger capacities.
