Youtube throttling speeds due to ad blocker, even with youtube premium

Hey Guys, 

 

So everyone knows that youtube is throttling the speed of the website for people who are using ad blockers, but i have noticed today that im also being throttles for having an ad blocker, even though im a premium subscriber.

 

Has anyone else had this issue?

Uhh you got probably hit by youtube in middle of war between advertisers and adblockers.

 

At this point i just download them and play them then discard them.

 

Can't be bothered with it.

I'm jank tinkerer if it works then it works.

if you have premium, why not disable adblocker for youtube though?

Or just cancel your premium subscription. If you're going to get punished too, why bother with it.

 

I know my ad blocking doesn't get turned off for any reason.

Bc ad blocker cleans up more than the ads during playback.

Never experienced "throttling" using UBlock Origin...

ABP slowed things down at some point becasue it was buggy, but others don't.

What OP calls throttling might be the system deciding to drop resolution/bitrate if there are many dropped frames. This can be annoying with some VTubers since they drop frames at source (confirm by downloading VOD after), but the client thinks it is network. There are plugins that can set/maintain your chosen resolution which also resolves the problem of YT serving lower resolutions by default.

The last time this came up it was a bug with AdBlock Plus. You shouldn't be using that anyway, it wasn't an issue with uBlock Origin. 

 

That being said just disable it if you have premium.
