load less chunks otherwise any machine will lag with minecraft

Minecraft is a very CPU intensive game. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if your CPU is at 100% load and your GPU under 30%. Lower your chunks to 12. If it's still laggy after then, install Optifine and go through the advanced graphics settings.

Minecraft is poorly optimized and runs poorly even on the best gaming PC's and high-end workstations.

The GPU or CPU? If so, can you provide screenshots?

you're talking about a game that requires an internet connection to play which means the game is immediately not a reliable source for gauging pc performance.

a pentium 3 could play the game faster than an i7 purely based on connection speeds/ connection reliability / ping / what server it's connected to / the severs traffic/ and the servers speed.

it does not require a internet connection even then that shouldnt effect performance

You can play minecraft single player without a connection, there is no always online feature. The fps shouldn't be affected by the connection you have to the server.

I had this exact same problem with my old gaming laptop. First, make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers, then when they are installed, right click the minecraft icon and select "start with dedication graphics card" or something similar to that. See, your computer deems minecraft easy enough to run that it starts the program running on the integrated graphics by default, and you have to tell it to open the program using the gpu so that you don't get the horrible framerate from the intergrated graphics. Just remember to do that every time you want to open minecraft.

Try closing background applications it may also help to delete bloat ware on the laptop. Mine craft can run on a Raspberry pie and get 60 fps in 720p so It is most likely that your cpu and gpu are working to hard on other tasks or you bought a faulty product and you many wanna return to dell or however it is you bought it from.

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD
