Good high end laptop?

This is a followup from my last post, so I've found that going 2 in 1 is a bad idea so I'm looking for a basic laptop that can handle whats listed below, two things to note however would be I want the display to not have glares, the graphics card isn't the focus, and the cheaper the better. Thanks for any help!

used for: video viewing, light gaming (i.e. hearthstone, Dota 2), and 3-D modeling. The specs I want: a new gen i-7, 256gb+ SSD, 8gb of ram, 1080p or better monitor, 5+ hrs of battery life

I considered this one, but the screen has issues with glare and display https://www.amazon.com/Dell-Inspiron-i5577-7342BLK-PUS-Gaming-Laptop/dp/B06XVQF486/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1503170382&sr=1-1&keywords=laptop%2Bi7-7700hq&th=1

https://www.apple.com/shop/buy-mac/macbook-pro?product=MPXT2LL/A&step=config#

  • 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
  • 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
  • 256GB SSD storage
  • Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640
  • 2560x1600 IPS screen
  • Two Thunderbolt 3 ports
  • 10 Hours battery life

This checks off all your boxes (kinda beyond what you want tbh). But it is a Mac and idk how you feel about that or spending that much.

Why? Laptops with that chip won't be coming out until later.

a dongle book pro, nice.

You legit can carry 1 dongle with less physical volume than my wallet and have more I/O than most any laptop.

In terms of specs no, you don't. Sure you can beat a 13" but the 15" models? Nope.

Doesn't really match up.

Notice how he was considering the Dell Gaming one, which is most likely the type he is looking for; a quad core i7 and a discrete graphics card. The laptop you linked does not have either of those things.

But it does check off his boxes. I looked at what he said he wanted.

A recent i5 and not a main focus on the GPU. Games like Hearthstone and Doda would run fine. The main issue he might have is in modeling but even then not really.

Technically you're correct but its not in the same league as the one he linked performance wise.

fixed it, it doesn't anymore, can't say the same thing for the dongle book "pro"

- custom fan profile

- replace the thermal paste

Not immediately no. The chips are coming out so unless OEMs had designs just waiting to have a CPU plopped into them there will be a delay.
