Yeah, waiting for third party benchmarks is a must for me. But in this case I'm worried the miners will snatch all the Vegas right after launch.

Don't worry they will. If it falls behind in gaming then it will destroy NVIDIA in mining. Some serious money will be thrown for bigger profit :/

If only they would sod off into an actual mine and stop artificially inflating gaming cards.

Due to the new architecture I doubt it will be good for mining straight away until the miner programmers can tune their mining programs. Also the nvidia and AMD mining dedicated cards should help alleviate the huge Out of Stock issues with the 470/480/570/580.

Starting at the same price as the Titan Xp, I hope it will out perform it.

Remember that this is the Radeon Pro of the Vega lineup. The other cards should be cheaper. But according to that table at the bottom, it should, but I wouldn't trust it one bit.

Financial motivation should be more than enough to motivate the miners to update their programs.

New architecture = growing pains. It's gonna happen, just hopefully it won't be too bad or for too long.

They won't restock the 400 series. 500... whenever they can. Fabs don't change their plans overnight, so it's a bit of a tough spot for AMD.

Not saying it won't happen that the miners will make their programs work with it, it's a matter of how long it will take to make it work with a new architecture and even then how good is it. Biggest problem with the AMD card shortage is the fact that they just work so well at mining Ethereum. If these new cards out of the box aren't very good at that or ZCash they will likely still at least be around for the rest of us to buy and use.

Ya, that had slipped my mind until after I had already posted it. Not to mention for some reason on my phone I am not currently able to see the photos under the spoiler.

You can mine dual mine Ethereum + Decred or ZCash with 1060's and make about the same, 1070, 1080 or 1080 ti's it's much better to mine ZCash. AMD is best for Ethereum, nvidia is best for Zcash :P

I'd prefer the 580's cuz they are a cheaper way to get started but 1070's or 1060's can totally work too. Just wanna mine to the cards strengths. Til I can make a rig I'm putting my desktops 1080 to work on some ZCash mining :)

I don't throw money at NVIDIA anymore but I should checkout Zcash. Had lately issues with my GTX 960. RMA'd with R9 380X (Yep we still have that shit there in Croatia). I hope they did god fucking good job on Vega cause they had enough time and they sacrificed competition to make a big enemy for NVIDIA's High End Pascal GPU's.
