Should I upgrade my 970 ??

Hey so I was wondering what to upgrade to from a 970 and whether I actually should. So I was going to decide between the RX 580 and GTX 1060 but I can't decide.  Like Nvidia makes durable and quality cards I haven't had AMD ya know not to offend any AMD fans but IDK. Like you know how there is like Android vs Apple. Nvidia is the apple here even when they don't make highest specs and stuff they still end up making a good phone... Anyways you get the point. I would be open to any other suggestion. Thank you

Not much of a point to get a 580/1060, used 980ti/1070 or wait for vega/volta.

I think you're good for now, but you can get a 1070 or wait for AMD to release Vega.

580/1060 is not a big or worth the upgrade. Either you go 1070 or used 980TI

The Thing is I don't think my CPU can handle VEGA

What is your CPU? If it can handle a 1070 or 1080, it wont bottleneck vega (Not that equivalent cards at least).

oh okay what about my ram its only 1866 mhz and my motherboard is z97 gaming 7 isn't that a problem for ram speeds?? and like that will prevent the card to perform at its peak

Not really, ram speed doesnt matter much with Intel.

you can pop a 1080Ti in that rig and have mostly no issues (every CPU bottlenecks that beast)

Get a stronger monitor and, yes, the 775 system will be good.

ATM 970s are very cheap on ebay, so unless you need the additional RAM, going 970sli might be the way to go here, since you wouldn't be getting much for your old card

are you kidding? this is like the second best CPU for gaming the haswell IPC is really good and the 4790K is a stong quad-core with hyper-threading and is only slightly behind the 6700k/7700k and it overclock very well with many if not most chips... for gaming it's plenty go crazy on the GPU if you can afford a 1440p Gsync monitor do that and get a 980ti/1070/1080 and sell your 970.

I can trade my card for free this year for a new card at the same price point. I just need more vram cuz I get a lot of stuttering in games

i think youre very confused here. both make high end and durable cards, but this generation amd has focused on the mid range cards. apple and android makes literally no sense here. also, thye 580 is better than the 1060 in pretty much all ways. its got freesync, beats it in many dx11 games, and beats it in almost all dx12 games and all vulcan games

except for this stupid crytocurrency mining shortage, the 1060 shouldn't even be considered an option anymore for how much they cost.
