How badly am I murdering my gt 610

TheCatShuriken

So I have a gt 610, heat sink cooler. Now I know some about computers, but I dont really know whats healthy for a graphics card. I have been playing overwatch recently and my graphics card has reached about 95 Celsius at times. I plan on giving my current computer to someone when I`m done with it, so I wanna know if using it like this will leave it a burned out husk or if its fine to do this.

Thanks!

Anything above 80 is worrisome imo.

Are they going to be using the computer for the same thing when they receive it?

I'd say 85C is when you put your fans at max and probably throw a few ice cubes at the cooler.

No, mostly non graphical programs (internet, skype, normal things)

Issue is, its a heatsink, and as we all know, a solo heatsink card is nothing but fantastic at staying cool.

How do you manage to get 95c when the card is weak as hell. Did you just remove the heatsink and sit it over a heater

I play overwatch lol.

They added just a heatsink because you're supposed to use a beaker of coffee or tea to cool it down.

It will probably die in a few years so if you give it to someone else it will be their problem when it dies.

Meh my HD7950s are both running at 95c° for about a year now, can't be that bad :D

But honestly: no that is indeed too hot. I'm trying to justify an upgrade to Vega/1080, which is so much easier when the old ones are dead.

Allright. So I dont have a single case fan. Thats the problem.

I pointed a fan at my graphics card and its been 65-75 C. Not too bad.
