Thank you for letting me vote for all 4.

Hind sight I should have made a category that said stealing from anyone is equally wrong morally though some people feel stealing from the elderly a especially vulnerable group the most morally reprehensible.

Grandparents or parents methinks. Obviously stealing is wrong and all, but I think those groups add a level of trust that is hard to break.

You mean hard to rebuild. Trust is easy to break with anyone, it just hurts all that much more when you betray the ones who care and love you.

Stealing from your parents, grandparents, friends or random people. No specific situation just in general.

I mean that it's hard to bring yourself to break it, if that makes sense.

I think of this, family is going to be close with you no matter what. Not saying friends is anything bad or so, but you can lose friends and make friends at the same time.

No specific answer is the correct or wrong answer. They are based on your own morality and choice and aren't inherently bad if they dont align with someone else's thoughts on morality in this given situation.

I would say hard working people, families, old people or generally anyone who is less off. Noble professions like doctors, ambulance emt's, hospital workers, cafeteria workers, waitresses, service industry folks who work hard and break a sweat.

I dont care about big corp's getting fucked, as they fuck people over all the time. Banks for one, Finance industry, major retailers, large schools, nationwide outfits, multi-national companies, O&G, Apples and IBM's of the world, HD, Lowes, Rona, Safeways, COOP, Loblaws, Dealerships. Commercial real estate. I could care less about Walmart, Crap-O-Rama aka DollaRama. Lawyers. Police. Peace Officers. Bylaw Enforcement. City Hall. Prov/State government, Federal Government, CRA/Taxes, CSIS, RCMP.

I would argue that all the people you list above work for large corporations. Thus when they get screwed over so do the hard working people of that company. Not saying your right or your wrong just that the truth is everyone works for a big corp unless your a small business owner or live off the grid living off the land like survivor man style.

Welp that is a stupid question, sorry not sound blunt or maybe I do.

Stealing is stealing, no matter how you look at it is all the same, you are still taking something form someone else and it still hurts them the same either way.

There is no moral right (or 'more right') in stealing. But it really depends on your relationship with the three parties you know.

Some grandparents don't care about their grandchildren and at that point it might feel less wrong for said grandparent to steal.. same with parents.

Friends are chosen by you, so it's probably the wordt morally to steal from them.

Random people is morally in the middle, since you don't have a relationship with them.

Since your parents are the ones who care for you, raise you, and love the most (some people have different situations) I'd have to say parents or grandparents as they are the reason for your existence. And as the saying goes "you shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you"

As for friends, I feel like you would get what you deserve if you were to actually steal from a friend. They simply wouldn't want to friends with you anymore...

It's not a stupid question as you can see from the poll people have vary in how they feel about it. Also one person can vote for all of the above. Next poll I make will have that option. It's good to see people express their different views which was the ultimate goal of this post. ?

Well really, I considering wholly immoral to steal in general.

But in terms of what it'd hurt the most, it'd hurt the trust of your parents greatly, far more than stealing from friends or grandparents.

Full supporter in regard to stealing be wrong in every way, personally, I believe stealing from strangers is the worst.

Stealing from random people/strangers is worse because:

- You don't know their situation, therefore you have no idea the impact your actions are taking

- You most likely won't see them again, therefore there is no opportunity to right the wrong

- They are more likely to take legal action against you

- There is little chance of stealing to right an "inequity", whereas the other options may give someone a motive of "righting a wrong" or "getting their fair share from family/friends"

Just a thought, very interesting topic! Good post OP
