Google Will Discontinue The Pixel Phone

So every year, major phone manufacturers will release a new iteration of their phone and cut production of the older iteration. Google is planning on a new Pixel 2 phone, so the Pixel 1 phones will indeed stop production sometime this year.

Boy am I glad that's cleared up. I was so worried that a new Pixel phone wasn't coming.

Proud owner of a Nexus 6p. switched to Galaxy S7 but went back. The 6p feels more premium to me.

I still remember the demo units in store being buggy AF because they were set to "demo" mode. While even $50 smart phones without a demo mode were working just fine.

Could you change the title or something? Right now it's really misleading, when I saw it I thought Google was discontinuing the Pixel phone right now and I was like, "WTF?!?" Maybe change it something like, "Pixel 2 Confirmed to be in the Works." Or something else. Right now just by reading the title it sounds like Google is discontinuing the Pixel lineup of phones!

My brother likes his pixel phone so I'll say good to see another iteration. It's sad to see them jump in price but at least their distribution would hopefully get better (we all know how fast the Nexus 4 sold out...).

Agreed. Every phone gets discontued at the end of its life cycle.

C'mon man, no one is gonna actually do that to their phone. My phone has still perfectly retained it's shape. It's still in mint condition. I think the build quality is great

You should be careful about that... I'm not too sure since it is a bit borderline but it could be interpreted as against the posting guidelines.

Still wish Google hadn't cancelled the Nexus line.  Everyone should want regular software/security updates, but not everyone want to drop $1000 CAD on a new phone every 2-3 years.

I've had a glass screen protector and Case on my phone since day one. My phone is in mint condition. It's better to be safe than sorry
