Assign each Chrome tab to their own core so they would use less memory, I don't even know if that is possible

Hahaha more like $750 AMD cant afford to undercut that much.

Undercut? $750 would be overshooting, their top Ryzen is a CONSUMER i7 competitor, not an enthusiast i7 competitor. Just because they demo'd it against an X chip people have funny ideas in their heads.

We've seen AMD's Hyderabad shipping insurance numbers estimating value of the top chip to $500.

Those haven't been wrong before, +/- $50

And there were two 8-core SKUs, one at $350 and one at $500

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

AMD has never tried to put their prices really low unless it didn't have a competitive product, so if it actually competes on the higher end it will not be cheap remotely

Qpi is long gone between the chipset and cpu. X99 chipset runs on dmi 2.0

Qpi is still there in the cpu. Cpus with 2 qpi can work with 2 cpus.

Oh so you're right. My mistake. I was under the impression that the extreme platform still had the QPI on the outside.

they already had Z170 last year, so this year with the new Z270 boards X299 will blend in better into the naming scheme.

x199 makes no sense

E.g.

Druken master

Druken master 2

Druken master 3

Not

Druken master

Druken master 1

Druken master 2

Druken master 3

So Druken master is Druken Master 0? No one names something with 0.

X99, X299.

Not X099, X199, X299

Can't wait to watch another reason to not upgrade go by, although that 4c is intriguing. Is that a budget option to the enthusiast platform? And if so, how budget? Because IMO it'd have to make it worth the more expensive chipset.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

The expensive chipset might be worth it in it's own right. It's going to have additional PCIe 3.0 lanes out of it now like Skylake/Kaby Lake's extras. Curious how many.

I was realizing that shortly after, but considering the usual price of the 6800k and 7700k aren't that far off, the 4c doesn't make a lot of sense unless Intel inflates the 6c's pricing or just goes for only 40 lane options.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

amd needs a IPC upgrade fast

To be honest, if AMD offered Bulldozer chips (that are AM4) alongside Zen chips with the Bulldozer chips still at their current prices or lower, I would not be surprised if they flew off shelves like sheeps flocking to a new product as they are excellent CPU for budget workstations, DIY servers, budget streaming machines and budget gaming PCs...it's just being killed by it's lack of upgrades :/.

I mean it's performance is definitely not lacking if the program/scenario is able to utilise all 8 cores as the FX8320 can beat a i5 6600K at the same clock speeds...(yep a CPU that costs almost half as much is beating the more expensive CPU...)

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

It can beat an it 6600K at integer calculations. For FP32/64 calculations it gets torn apart, but it's amazing for integer calculations. That's the whole point of CMT.

I know, just stating the obvious fact how if the current FX chips actually had an upgrade path, they wouldn't be that bad :P

I understand why they went with X299 instead of X199, it's simple because it would be confusing with Kaby Lake being Z270.

Thus, from the war of nature, from famine and death, the most exalted object which we are capable of conceiving, namely, the production of the higher animals, directly follows. There is grandeur in this view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed into a few forms or into one; and that, whilst this planet has gone cycling on according to the fixed law of gravity, from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved.

It make sense going from 9 to 10. Because there is the H110, B150, H170, and Z170.
