is there actually a vr ready gtx 1070?

Hello I'm just wondering if there is a card that has dual hdmi or one hdmi port on front of the card because Ill be getting nzxt s340 elite and I want to eventually buy a Vive

He means "use displayport to connect the monitor". An adapter will work.

you both are missing the point about my choice of case Its a VR CASE THAT HAS A HDMI PORT IN THE FRONT IO SO I NEED A CARD THAT HAS HDMI IN THE FRONT OF IT SO I CAN USE THE VR PART OF MY CASE sorry about the caps I typed everything out and didnt want to change it

Yes VR Ready cards does exist. And most don't know what the heck that means. But they do exist.  Asus Strix isn't one of them.

I thought a VR Ready Card was just anything past the point of the 970? I could be wrong , but thats what i thought it was

some cards have a HDMI passthrough for VR...

EDIT: EVGA GTX 980ti VR edition ACX...i dont know if they have a GTX 1070 and a 1080 edition...they probably do!

VR has a HDMI passthrough port located near the inside edge of the card, usually near the power connector area. This lets users with them new cases that has front HDMI port, plug the case's internal cable directly to that HDMI port, so when they plug in their VR devices, they just plug it to the HDMI port that's in the front of the case, instead of reach through the back. It's like having front USB port, but now you have HDMI.

VR Ready is just a card that can handle VR, VR Edition is the one with the HDMI passthrough.

You could remove an extra PCIe slot cover, run a cable through the case for it and plug it into the back of the GPU by passing through the now open slot.

There needs to be a point of clarification, especially when it comes to marketing VR ready cards:

A VR Ready card is simply any card that can drive the Rift and Vive with consistent results and delivers a good overall user experience. That can be a reference 980, an MSI Armor OC 1080, Gigabyte G1 1070, XFX RX480 GTR, etc.

 

A card with an internal HDMI port designed to be passed through for VR doesn't really have a good name. They're ready for VR optimized cases, maybe they should just be called VROC Ready/Compatible.

Okay, we've got EVGA calling a single card the VR Edition and Gigabyte calling it VR Link.

Because consumers needing to keep track of different names for an internal HDMI port.

How is the Strix any more convenient for VR than EVGA or Gigabyte's dedicated VR cards (considering it doesn't have an internal port)? And how does it suit a black and green color scheme any better than those two?

I like the fans but I hadn't realized it was a 3 slot card.  It's so big. ?
