What do you consider the requirements to be for PCMR?

TubsAlwaysWins

What do you believe one needs to do to join PCMR?

Personally I think you just need to have built your PC from scratch (So no upgrading a pre-built)

(And please don't start flame wars)

I think the moment you find yourself making a judgement that a PC is unequivocally better for gaming, you've joined. (Though I still enjoy my consoles, so maybe I'm not "A True PCMR" :P )

Building a full PC all by yourself from scratch qualifies that you have ascended. Before that, as long as you accept that PCMR > Console, you have been enlightened.

To test if you are real PCMR you must superglue your tongue to an AMD FX-9590 @5 GHz and run Aida 64 for 2 hours.

The thermal transfer would not be great enough, and the CPU would overheat.

You need to learn about computers (not everything, but the most common issues) and how to fix/diagnose them.

You should play games on your favorites devices, i.e. mobile, console, PC, handheld.

You should be a courteous and positive influence when playing online, if and when you do.

You should have one AAA game in your Steam library that you will never play, but is there taunting you. FOREVER.

And you should be an active part of a community whether it is Steam, Toms Hardware, AnandTech, etc. ...

I own a PC (Obviously), a Xbox 360, and a PS4. But I only use my PC and PS4.

IMO Consoles have their place, like if you don't want to deal with bullshit mic problems or taking 10 years to find a good server. They are also nice because most of my friends are on console

I'm really just saying the test couldn't be completed because the CPU would've overheated. I would also say that any club that requires you to glue your tongue to something, is not any club worth joining lol.

1) Graphics over gameplay mechanics.
2) Be overly concerned with how other individuals play and enjoy gaming.  If at all possible, spend more time telling other people how they should be gaming than actually playing games themselves.
3) Tell others to buy the most expensive PC components even if they themselves can't afford it.
4) Their frame rate is more important than their score.

5) 'Get Good' doesn't mean 'Practice and hone your skills', it means 'The micro switches in your keyboard aren't expensive enough'.

If you can play the games you love on console on a PC (inc. with emulators) and know how to work a PC for gaming, you pretty much qualify in my eyes. As for minimum specs:

Intel i3 processor, Athlon X4 860K, FX 6300 (if you don't mind not having ITX motherboards and cases), GTX 1050 or RX 460. It should work for most games as long as you're wililng to play some of them on medium or even low. You may be stuffed if you want to play multiplayer on the same PC since most PC games are singleplayer, but they have LAN parties for both PC and console.

To be true PCMR: an arrogant (and often ignorant) asshole who chants that console gaming must die from the top of their lungs unironically.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

It really did start out as a fun joke, but then people started taking it way too seriously.

I don't honestly think about the PCMR anymore, it's over for me because people ruined it.
