GeForce Now - 25$ for 20 hours of gameplay

did nVidia lost their marbles? you are better off with buying the game from STEAM / GoG than streaming it trough nVidia's service

a game that offers 20 hours of gameplay does not worth 25$

and a game that you can play for 50+ hours will cost less if you own it

this service is for people with too much $ and no brains

from my understanding you still have to buy the game and then you can pay 25 for the hours. and if you want 1080 level of performance you only get 4 hours for 25$.

someone correct me if i'm wrong.

The future is just 64GB 3DXPoint storage for home computers and everything is streamed. That is how Intel and Nvidia will destroy Samsung and the entire data storage industry :D

Well, remote desktops on servers first replaced enterprise workstations. Now they've replaced layman desktops for business computers, and the clients are just dumb terminals using dual-core Atoms. The idea it can't be done to consumerville is, well, quite silly.

If a 10-phase of solid state caps with ferrite chokes couldn't cut it, I don't want to see the price tag of the board that can.

No i quite understand extreme overclocking. This was on air and not extreme overclocking, besides the magazine said it themselves, it was the vrm giving them issue.

5GHz isn't extreme except on air. I understand extreme OC just fine. I'm merely saying this result is as meaningless as the 7GHz Kaby Lake.

I hate it when people imply that something is impossible or extreme because it's on air. You put a big enough cooler (NH-D15 anyone) on it and it's gonna be fine. You need a pretty beefy loop to see an improvement and even then it's usually not a make or break situation.

Buildzoid already debunked Ryzen doing 5GHz on air. On one core, sure, but not all 4/6/8. Just not happening. 4.4-4.5 is way more realistic.

Not likely, Samsung is working on their own technology and 3DXPoint isn't going to replace much in the short term.

Yea I saw his post too, anecdotes are the opposite of data. Like I said i dont really expect every chip to do 5ghz but I'm betting it's possible without getting a top 1% chip

Holy fuck, GeForce Now is ten times worse than it sounded at CES last night:

http://nvidianews.nvidia.com/news/nvidia-expands-geforce-gaming-to-millions-more-pcs-and-macs

Pricing and Availability

When gamers register for GeForce NOW, they can play for free for 8 hours on a GeForce GTX 1060 PC or 4 hours on a GeForce GTX 1080 PC. For an additional $25, gamers can play for 20 hours on a GTX 1060 PC or 10 hours on a GTX 1080 PC.

You also have to buy the fucking game first. What a shit service. xD

In development at NVIDIA for five years, GeForce NOW is compatible with most Windows- and Mac-based desktop PCs and laptops. Gamers simply download the GeForce NOW app to their local machine. With a few clicks, they can connect to their own GeForce GTX virtual PC, install their favorite games from popular digital game stores -- like Steam, Battle.net, Origin, Uplay and GOG -- and start playing.

Well they can fuck off. Remote access is my friend in this regard. I can play any game installed on my main rig, on my laptop with its pathetic APU.

I assumed 20 hours of gameplay per week, which is about what I do. That means you'd burn the 25 dollars of time in a week. 52 weeks in the year times $25 is $1300 per year.
